Financial advisor Guthrie MacNeill isn’t a complete Scrooge—he just hates the enormous cost associated with the Christmas holiday season. Needless to say, when his pack hires a party planner to decorate the castle, he’s at his wit’s end. Until Calla Stewart arrives on the scene with her mistletoe in hand.

Calla has never had a client as difficult as Guthrie, but she’s determined to give the pack a Christmas season they will never forget—no matter how much it costs. But when her ex-fiancé begins stalking her and threatening her safety, Guthrie decides to loosen his grip on the purse strings and let out his inner Highland warrior wolf to protect her.

~ 4.5 A Highland Wolf Christmas Stars ~

Most of you should know by now I am a FAN of Ms. Spear. Her work is always a go to read for me. What I like most in her shifter books is that each story is unique. I never feel like I am re-reading the same thing over and over. It’s always fresh wither we are meeting old friends or new. Secondly I love that each character has their own personalities, quirky traits and fun loving family and friends. Third her writing flows effectively pulling the reader into the world, characters, and plot. And fourth each book can be read as a standalone. I always look forward to more of Ms. Spear shifter books!

I was so excited to finally get Gutherie MacNeill’s story. He was introduced in Heart of the Highland Wolf along with all his brothers. I loved how he is so uptight and a stickler for finances that he will consume himself in work. I always wanted to find out what women would finally break him of his habit and pull him out of the work-a-holic shell.

Calla is introduced in A Highland Werewolf Wedding where we see her as Cearnach MacNeill’s friend. She runs a party planning business, so she is in the business of spending money which is the complete opposite of Gutherie. Calla is a strong character with a good head on her and great friends that help her find the mate she has been looking for.

Even if you have not read any of the other books you will not be missing out. The author does a fantastic job of filling you in on each character and relationships. I like the author’s sense of humor and the Scotland sense are breath taking. The romance building is sweet and I loved their first kiss. It was a heartfelt moment. We have some suspense in that Calla is being stalked, though that storyline was light and at times felt added just to push the story along.

If your new to paranormal romance, love alpha wolves, or a nice light read; then I recommend giving this book or any of Ms. Spear work’s a try.
