Sunday Post/BB&B #43 – Happy New Year, Changes on the blog, and more…

sunday postThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme.

This is going to be two weeks of catch up and blog news!

Well I missed posting the last Sunday in Dec. Family was in town until Jan. 2, lots going on and we where on the go. Our boy was in Christmas overload for a few days after and probably still is. We went to Meir Woods, CuriOdyssey, did a cook out at Coyote Point Park, and visited the California Academy of Sciences. Christmas Eve was spent with my husbands step-sister and family. The cousins did some major playing and the adults enjoyed the food and drink. Got to have a date night with my hubby. It has been forever since we did one of those. We went out to dinner & a movie. Saw The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. I enjoyed it, but some of the scenes where just to long. They could have made The Hobbit into one movie and it would have worked. All the extra long fight and scenery scenes we could have done without. New Years Day I took Grandma Rollie to see Into The Woodwhile the boys stayed home and watched College Football. I enjoyed this movie also, but could have waited for both to come out on DVD. The movie theater is just so expense. Oh well moving on: Bought some movies for myself with gift cards I got at Christmas; Maleficent & X-Men: Days of Future Past. Loved Maleficent and I’m a total X-Men fan owning all of them. We also spent the Holiday watching several movie classics: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, White Christmas, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Original Christmas Classics.

Several new things are happening on the blog in this New Year 2015!

I’ll be doing a weekly romance list of new releases due out that week instead of posting Happy Book Release Day on the day they come out. The new post will be called Angel’s Weekly Romance List. Have not decide if I’ll post on Sunday or Monday.

The-Series-that-Never-Ends-Challenge

I have signed up for some new to you challenge2015 Challenges: 2015 Library Challenge2015 New To You Reading Challenge, 2015 The Series That Never Ends Reading Challenge & Goodreads 2015 Reading Challenge. I will update the page’s as I make progress. You are free to join the challenge’s at anytime. Last year I set a goal on Goodreads to read 150 books I ended up reading around 165. The other’s are new challenge’s and I look forward to participating in them with their hosts.

Library-Challenge-Badge

I’ve also been working on setting up a list of books I own on Nook and Kindle for lending. Both devices have lending options. I understand how costly it is to buy books and the library does not always have the book we want to read. We will see how the lending goes. It is also designed to help me keep track of all the online books I own.  (Book Lending Options) is live now, so feel free to check out what’s available. I want to be a helpful source in reading books, but I urge you that if you enjoyed/liked a book to help support the authors buy purchasing there books.

2015-one-click-reading-challenge-booksI set some new year blog resolutions. You can check them all out here, but my main goal I plan on working on is “to read two books each month I have one-clicked or bought on my Kindle/Nook that I’ve not read yet. (Most books on my devices are free, so I really need to clean them up)”. I’ve set up a page here to keep track.

HAPPY READING!

Owner/Review and mind behind Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. However what I am not is a writer. I apologize now for the grammatical and punctuation errors I make, because I know I’m going to make them. I’m a mother, wife, dog owner, animal, and book lover. My favorite animals are horses. As for reading I love all things paranormal & urban fantasy. My favorite shifters are dragons!

  1. Good luck with your challenges, I’m only doing GR this year, hopefully it’ll motivate me to not just aim for quantity but quality too!

    • Good luck with your challenge. The ones I picked will help me keep my new years resolution/goals I made. I wanted to get back to reading books and less spotlight for tours.. Have a great week Braine!

  2. Sounds like your holidays were wonderful and yes for date night! We prefer to watch the movies after they release on DVD. Good luck with your challenges and new post format for Romantic releases. Have a delightful week Angel!

    • Thanks for stoping by. Ya It’s be ages since we went to a movie and I was shocked at the prices, but since it was family visiting we went. I’m a wait for DVD person too. Have a great week!

  3. Enjoy your books and your new challenges. I know I signed up for way to many so I guess we shall see how that goes..lol.

    • Hi Stormi, Thanks for stoping by and following. I’m looking forward to 2015 year in blogging and challenges. Good luck with your challenges. ^_^

  4. You won some great prizes!
I don;t like long fight scenes in books or movies. I always think they could just show a bit and then tell us who died and who got wounded. I am listening to THE FIERY CROSS right now and Gabaldon does a great job with the battles.

    • I’m excited to read Protecting His Witch. I’ve had that on my TBR once it popped up in the blogger world and I’ve not read Zoe yet, so she is new to me author. I like a good fight scene, but it has to be done right and if not it just gets to me. Have a great week Steph and thanks for stoping in.

  5. I took some time off too. Was planning on going to the theatre but caught that flu bug and just vegged at home and read a lot of books.
I’m looking forward to choosing some new reading challenges.

    Here’s my Sunday Post – http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/01/04/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-91-and-the-sunday-post/

    • We will see how the challenges go. I tried to pick ones that would help me keep my New Year Resolutions/Goals. I got sick after family left, so I’m veggie’n on Books and TV. Fell better Laura and thank you for stoping by.
