Bad Wolf (Shifters Unbound #7.5) by Jennifer Ashley

Bad WolfWolf Shifter Broderick is stuck looking after his three younger brothers and a Collar-less Shifter who is driving him crazy, but he’s putting up with it for Joanne, the human woman he, for some reason, wants to impress. Joanne Greene, while grateful to Broderick for rescuing her sister, doesn’t know what to make of him. She’s been a loner most of her life, better able to relate to computers and coding than to people, until she’s drawn into the world of the Shifters.

Broderick is everything Joanne is not—a fighter and a tracker, from a rough-and-tumble family, better at working with his hands than understanding the netherworld of Joanne’s computer programmer life. Broderick is also extremely protective, wanting to draw her under his care as he does everyone else.

When Broderick is captured, mistaken for a Guardian, it’s Joanne who figures out that hackers are after the Guardian Network, the database that holds the deep secrets of Shifters past and present. Strangely, Broderick now holds the key to stopping the deadly danger of the network’s breach, and Joanne with her coding skills is the only one who can help him.

Dragon on Top (Dragon Kin 0.4) by G.A. Aiken

Dragon on TopTry a little dragon tenderness.

I am Glheanna the Decimator. I am a warrior. A soldier. I know no fear. No pain. No mercy. I do, however, know acute embarrassment! How could I not after getting dumped by a bastard dragon in front of my own troops? So I tuck tail and return to my cave, drowning my sorrows in ale—as is my family’s way. But instead of leaving me to my misery, I’ve been summoned to the Dragon Queen’s court.

As if my life wasn’t pathetic enough, Her Majesty now has me escorting the highborn Bram the Merciful through dangerous territories—not exactly the best use of my military training. And just so he can negotiate with enemy dragons instead of battling them? Honestly, what has my world come to? Then again…Bram is quite easy on the eyes. And the perfect distraction for what ails me. Perhaps I’m looking at all this the wrong way. Maybe there is a place for a little “mercy” in my life…

Reapers and Bastards: A Reapers MC Anthology (Reapers MC #4.5) by Joanna Wylde

reapers and bastards coverFrom the New York Times bestselling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club and Silver Valley series comes an anthology of extras and never-before-released material, including a new short story featuring fan favorites Horse and Marie.

Charming Bastard: A Novella
I first met Riley Boone when I was four years old. We moved to Callup, Idaho after my dad blew out his back and had to go on disability. Boonie’s family lived next to ours. Every afternoon he’d swagger off the school bus after kindergarten like a conquering king. For the first week he ignored me, until I impressed him by climbing nearly thirty feet up in the tree behind his trailer. They had to call the fire department to get me down, but it was worth it to see the respect in his five-year-old eyes. He gave me a worm in honor of my accomplishment. I fell in love. The next day he made me eat the worm and our relationship has been complicated ever since.

(Until now, this novella has been exclusively available in the paperback edition of Silver Bastard.)

Sticky Sweet: A Short Story
Horse and Marie met for the first time in Reaper’s Property. Now experience this moment through his eyes. (Originally available on the author’s website.)

NEW Skunked: A Short Story
Marie has some BIG news to share with Horse—news that will change both their lives forever….

NEW Sugar and Spice: A Short Story
A prequel to Reaper’s Fall, this story features Painter and Melanie’s first meeting.

PLUS: Becca’s Huckleberry Pie recipe, Marie’s Bread recipe and Emergency Skunk Cleaning recipe.

A Very Levet Christmas (Guardians of Eternity #11.5) by Alexandra Ivy

A Very Levet ChristmasA gargoyle of Levet’s charm and intelligence should not be facing a solitary Christmas. True, he may appear a little unconventional—not to mention unconventionally little—even for a gargoyle. But what Levet lacks in height he makes up for in loyalty, and being banned from the festivities surrounding the Queen of Weres’ new pups is quite unfair.

So when a beautiful Christmas angel begs for help in fulfilling her duties, Levet has nothing better to do than agree. Armed with a magical wand, Levet confronts Damon, a pureblood Were intent on seizing the throne. Challenging the King will put the pups at risk—and drive away Damon’s potential mate, Gia. Who better to convince Damon to choose love, not war, than a gargoyle expert in amour? With a little magic, and a lot of Levet, this may yet be a truly wonderful Christmas time.

Night Shift (Kate Daniels #6.5) by Nalini SinghIlona AndrewsLisa ShearinMilla Vane

Night_ShiftFour masters of urban fantasy and paranormal romance plunge readers into the dangerous, captivating world unearthed beyond the dark…

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh delivers a smoldering story with Secrets at Midnight , as the scent of Bastien Smith’s elusive lover ignites a possessiveness in him that’s as feral as it is ecstatic. And now that he’s found his mate, he’ll do anything to keep her.

In #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews’ novella, Magic Steals , when people start going missing, shapeshifting tigress Dali Harimau and jaguar shifter Jim Shrapshire must uncover the truth about the mysterious creatures responsible.

From Milla Vane—a warrior princess must tame The Beast of Blackmoor to earn a place among her people. But she quickly discovers that the beast isn’t a monster, but a barbarian warrior who intends to do some taming himself.

It’s seer Makenna Frazier’s first day on the job at Supernatural Protection and Investigations, and her first assignment is more than she bargained for when bodyguard duty for a leprechaun prince’s bachelor party goes every which way but right in national bestselling author Lisa Shearin’s Lucky Charms .

Levet (Guardians of Eternity #9.5) by Alexandra Ivy

LevetGargoyles do not admire difference–and Levet is undeniably different. Of miniscule stature, rather beastly looks, and with fragile, delicate wings, even his family has shunned him, banished him from his beloved Paris. That he is the only gargoyle ever to help defeat the Dark Lord and his hordes of minions makes no impression. But now Levet has come home, determined to be restored to the official Gargoyle Guild. To do so, he must confront the most feared gargoyle in all of Europe. The one who tried to kill him as a child: his own mother. . .

With few allies, Levet’s survival may depend on the aid of two strangers: Valla, a beautiful but damaged nymph, and Elijah, the fiercely possessive, love-struck vampire clan chief to whom she can’t quite surrender–unless Levet has something to do with it. . .

Lion Eyes (Shifters Unbound #7.25) by Jennifer Ashley

Lion EyesBree has just decided to give up trying to be a Shifter groupie when a lion Shifter slams into her truck and tells her to drive. Seamus is on the run from hunters, other Shifters, and who knows who else. All Bree knows is that he’s compelling, needs her help, and most intriguing of all, wears no Collar …

Seamus McGuire fears he’s gone crazy—feral—and become a killer. His only hope of getting away from the hunters and police on his tail is Bree, a human woman who not only knows a lot about Shifters but has great compassion for them.

Things are more complicated than they seem, however. Seamus is on a mission, to protect those in his care after the destruction of Kendrick’s compound of un-Collared Shifters. Seamus must keep it together and keep his charges hidden, but at the same time, he’s pulled to Bree as he’s never been pulled to a woman before. He needs to prove he’s innocent and not crazy before it’s too late for himself, Bree, and those he’s vowed to protect.

Lion Eyes debuted in the boxed set Dark and Damaged, in June 2015, then released on its own in print, e-book, and audio in late July 2015.

    • Jennifer Ashely’s Shifters Unbound series is a good one. I love most of the novellas the best, but I do have my favorites in the full length novels that I enjoy. I do re-read several of the novellas, just cause they a short and fun. I sometimes don’t have the time to get into something big, but want to read, so I always fall back on her and few other great authors. Hope you enjoy!

  3. Sexy novellas!

    Happy holidays, Angela!

    • Thank you Braine. Happy Holidays to you too!! ^_^

  4. OH! Novellas, that’s a great topic! I don’t read enough novellas to make a top ten in a year. :/ I did really like Katee Robert’s His to Take, published recently. Short and sweet and steamy!

    Lovely choices! 😀

    • Well as you can see I only have 7 on this list ^_^, but it’s close to 10. I read more novellas, but these where the best. Had I read Kissed By a Demon Spy & Magic Stars sooner, I would have added them to my list, but I just got to them this week during Christmas break.

Thank you for sharing a novella you liked this year!

  5. Interesting choice, I liked it since not many chose this! I loved The Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo.

    • I like novellas. They are short, but also play an intricate part in getting people hooked to a series or wanting to try a series out. If your fan of a series its sometimes nice to see the couples in other roles, down time, or just a different perspective. Thank you for sharing one of your novellas you liked in 2015.

  6. I haven’t read the Jennifer Ashley books, but I’m working my way through the series. I loved Night Shift. I started the SPI files because of that book, not to mention Dali and Jim’s story and the Psy/Changeling story. I didn’t mind the fourth story in that book, but I didn’t love it either. I loved G.A. Aikens, which reminded me that I needed to get back to that series. I still need to try Alexandra Ivy.

    • You should try Jennifer Ashley. I love her novellas in the series and of course I’ve had my favorites in the full length novels. Night Shift was great. I need to try the SPI Files I added it to my TBR after reading Night Shift. Can never get enough of Psy/Changeling another great series. Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity is another fun series to read. I had a book challenge to finish it in 2015 and I did.

I also read a few other great Novellas after I had this post all set up to go. Like: Kissed By A Demon Spy & Magic Stars. I would also add them to Best Novellas of 2015.
