SP-BBB-angelsgp

Another week has gone bye and I am participating in the Caffeinated Book Reviewer Sunday Post, where we recap the past week on the blog, things to come, showcase books & giveaways plus much more.

I am also participating in BB&B/Stacking The Shelves. BB&B is inspired by The Story Siren, Talk Supe & Pop Culture Junkie, where we share with you the books that we have bought, borrowed, bagged (Won or Gifted) and more. Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews it’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual.

Personal Note:

It’s been an eventful week for me at home. My parents arrived in town on Tuesday and stayed through Christmas. I did lots of baking made 2 – Pecan Pies and 2 – Cherry Pies.

I also cooked dinner on Tues., Wed., and Christmas Eve. Tried some new recipes for the first time. I’ve never had to cook Christmas Eve or Chrismas Day Dinner, so it was a new experience making Sweet Potato Casserole & Maple Roosted Brussels Sprouts.

The only downside to this Holiday was my son got sick the day before Christmas Eve and is still sick this weekend. Poor guy, but he still had the energy to open presents and play with his new toys.

  1. I’m so sorry your son was sick! That’s the worst. Hopefully he was well enough to enjoy Christmas a bit though. Love your food pics! Pecan pie is my absolute favorite but I’m the only one in my family who likes it(they’re weird) so I only get it very rarely. Have a great week and a happy New Year!

    • Hi Katherine, My son was well enough to enjoy the day, which was nice. He’s only 4 and seamed to find the energy even sick to open presents. We spending the week cleaning for the next set of parents to visit and trying to get well. It’s the same in my family I like it, but not many others do. The cherrie pies went fast, but I still have a pie and half of the pecan pie to eat. Since I backed them I can make them anytime. Hope you have a great week and Happy New Year!

  2. Those pies look so delicious!!!

I can’t wait to see your resolutions and reading challenges for 2016! I’m still deciding on what I want my blogging resolutions to be for next year. I need to set some goals for myself so that I don’t fall into another blogging slump.

    • They are. The cherrie pies went fast. I’ve still got pecan pie left, but I don’t think it will be around long.

I’ve got a lot of 2016 Reading Challenges I’m taking part in. I took it light this year since it was my first time doing challenges, but the ones I picked for next year can tie into each other, which will help. I also set up my resolutions to help work out some of the challenges or things I have been planning to read, but just don’t. Have a great week and Happy New Year!

  3. Great books for you this week. The food looks delicious, sorry your son was sick. I hope he is feeling better soon. Enjoy your new books!

    • The ones I read last week where all from authors I just love, so it was a nice fun time reading.

The food turned out great. I was a little nervous since I’m not much of a cook, but we did good this year. It’s always a bummer when someone is sick, but we made it through and my son found the energy to open presents and enjoy the day. We are spending the week recuperating and resting before the next set of grandparents come into town for a visit.

Thanks for stoping in, have a great week, and Happy New Year!

  5. There is always energy to open presents and play with new toys! 🙂 I hope the little guy gets rest and starts feeling better.

  6. Sorry to hear your son was sick. We had a very relaxed Christmas here. Just DH and I, no family this year. We had a large dinner for Thanksgiving. I did have fun doing the Top 10 of 2015 posts. I’m excited about 2016. There are so many great books coming out and I plan to get caught up on some series that I fell behind on. I also want to try some new-to-me authors.

    • Thanks Melanie. It was a great Christmas even with my son sick. We where with family which makes it that much more enjoyable. Nice that you had a relaxing Christmas.

I had fun doing the Top 10 too this week. I look forward to participating again next year. Yes, lots of great books. I also plan to get caught up or finish a few series next year and also read the books I’ve purchased, but have not yet. I’ll be showcasing all my 2016 Reading Challenges this week, so stop by and check them out who knows you might find one that will work for you.

Have a great week and Happy New Year!
