Coming home doesn’t always solve things … but it does pave the way for second chances.

Take one deadly bite and, bam, a man’s life is changed forever, or so Caleb discovers when a loss of control leads to him joining the military and leaving everything behind.

Time goes by … years spent silent and alone, cut off from those he loves. Until it’s time to come back, a scarred veteran, in many ways broken and looking for a meaning to his life. Perhaps it's not too late to right some wrongs. Make amends. Kiss a certain pair of sweet lips one more time.

If only Renny would damned well let him.

It doesn’t take Caleb long to realize Renny’s just the thing this croc needs to bring him back to life. Yet, what if he loses control again? He doesn’t want to take nibbling on her thighs to a whole new level.

Too bad, he can’t stay away, especially not when he discovers her secret. Add in a strange creature stalking the townsfolk and there is no way he’s leaving her alone.

Years ago it just about killed him to leave, but Caleb’s a changed man now. A darker kind of animal, and this retired soldier is ready to kill so he can stay.

Welcome to Bitten Point, where the swamp doesn't just keep its secrets, it sometimes eats them.

~ 4 Croc’s Return Stars ~

Croc’s Return is book one in the Bitten Point series by Eve Langlais. Coming home brings with it a few surprise for our hero and heroine, a second chance at romance, and a mystery to solve.

To start I’ve never read a reptile shifter story before. It was different, unique, and enjoyable. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the different kind of shifter.

Caleb I loved him. I couldn’t understand why he left town, but as you read on you learn what haunts him and why he did what he did. Should he have left, no, but then we wouldn’t have our tortured hero. He’s a good guy trying to fix all the hurt he caused when he disappeared leaving behind his family and the one women he loved. I also really enjoyed his croc and the chats he had with his beast side.

Renny, she’s a strong women and I enjoyed her. She dealt with the past well and when a threat comes around she gets on board with being safe.

These two worked well together. The romance is slow at first, but they have a lot to deal with from the past. Once they get over that the chemistry sparked and we are treated to some hot scenes. I also liked the development and introduction to other characters in the town of Bitten Point. The little mystery surrounding the town and swamp lands, which brings a few surprises and helped Caleb come to terms with his croc was enjoyable. The mystery does not fully wrap up and looks like it will be carried on into the next book, so I am a we bit interested to see what’ll happen next.

Croc’s Return has some suspense, a sweet second chance at love, and some great surprises. I quit enjoyed the reptile shifter aspect and am looking forward to continuing this series.

  1. Isn’t she an interesting one? I love that she does croc shifters. And so with you on his chats with his inner croc. Loved those 😀

    • I loved the chats he had with his inner croc. It was well done. Very enjoyable.

  2. Great review. The only reptile shifter I’ve read is another one from Eve. There is one in her FUC series. The Croc and the Fox. It was very cute. I love that she branches out so much into the different animal species for her shifters. Don’t get me wrong, I love bears, wolves and the big cats, but seeing some of the others are just too much fun.

    • I’ve not read Croc and the Fox yet, but I hope too one day. I’m excited to read more in the Bitten Point series. Croc’s Return was a great start to a new series and new characters.
