Violca Grey knows life can change instantly. Two years after her parents’ sudden death, Violca is left raising her four younger sisters. She doesn’t realize that their lives are all in danger from something that may not be human.

Chase Reed knows the Grey sisters possibly hold the key to his fate. He is determined to get close, protect them and bring them to his Dragon King.

Together, Chase and Violca not only have to protect their families—they also have to fight against their rising feelings for each other. But what Violca doesn't know is that once a dragon decides he wants something, there is no stopping him from getting it.

~ 2.5 Violca’s Dragon ~

Violca’s Dragon is book one in The Dragon Ruby series by Leilani Love.

LLove is a new author to me. I am torn over this book. It has potential, but the writing was choppy and other things just didn’t work for me.

The transitioning between the scenes and the characters POVs where not smooth. The story was mediocre and none of the characters stood out. They where all just their. Also I whole book felt slow with the plot and romance. It made it hard for me to read and get into the story.

The romance between Violca and Chase was a very slow burn and never really picked up. The three sex scence we got where, blah. I felt like the first two where the same wording just different locations, no originality or variation in the sex scene. We also have a possible secondary romance with secondary characters, but I just felt bad for Scott (secondary character) since his mate is currently underage. That made me feel bad for the guy and also a little weirded out with this set up.

As for the plot we are given a lot of information about the five sisters who know nothing about their heritage. I enjoyed the history/heritage on the witches. I like that we have a verity of supernaturals working together to stop a war and find the diamonds in the ruff, who can change the course of the world. I did get frustrated that once they where found that they got to go home even with the hutners still hunting them. That just did not work for me. Also when Violca encounters the Demon sent after her and destroys it. It felt too easy. Last we have the ending or lack of one. It just ends. Didn’t really feel like an ending.

Violca’s Dragon was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.
