Sunday Post/BB&B #116 ~ House Hunting!

SP-BBB-STS-Banner03-angelsgpThis is my take on the Sunday Post, BB&B, & Stacking The Shelves.

Another week has gone bye and I am participating in the Caffeinated Book Reviewer Sunday Post, where we recap the past week on the blog, things to come, showcase books & giveaways plus much more.

I also participate in BB&B/Stacking The Shelves. The BB&B is inspired by The Story Siren, Talk Supe, Pop Culture Junkie, and Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, wither they are bought, borrowed, bagged (Won or Gifted). It can be physical or virtual additions to your shelves.

Personal Notes:

I’ve been doing a lot of re-reading lately in between review and pick my own to read books. Lately I have just been feeling like I want to enjoy old favorites all over again. I am liking the new books coming out that I have for review, but their is something about re-reading an old favorite. Do you ever re-read?

This week is the start of family vacation. The blog and social media sites will be quiet while I’m away, so don’t think I’ve disappeared on you. I’ll be back mid-July with more great fun book blogging and my Birthday is in July. I’ve got a great surprise for you guys to CELEBRATE the day with me!

My husband is a big football aka soccer fan. We have been fallowing the Euro 2016 and will be taking in a game while in France. Have you been watching? Do you enjoy soccer?

I am a little tired and stressed out this weekend. I have to work both Sat. and Sun. plus my husband decided to look for a house to rent (last minute) instead of staying another year in the apartment, since the rent kept’s going up each year. That’s one thing I was surprised of in CA, that the rent can jump once the lease needs to be renewed and the other was no AC in apartments/homes. We where looking, but I was hitting dead ends with homes not accepting pets. My hubby got into his mind we needed to look for a new place this week, since the apartment people wouldn’t budge on the rent. Did I mention we leave for vacation in a few days, like less then a week! It was a week of visiting homes and running around.

I’m happy to say we did find something that works and accepts dogs. So, I spent Friday setting up movers for when we get back from vacation, setting up to tour the property before we take over, singing papers, and more phone calls to get everything in order. I really wasn’t planning on moving this year or even expected to do it once we got back, so I’m not sure now what’s going to be posted on the blog, since I have no idea of our internet situation. Eee..

  2. Best of luck with moving! I come from an army family and we move every 3 years, so I know how stressful it can be. It’s amazing that you guys are gonna watch a live game of the EURO’s! Do let us know how that goes.

  3. Congrats about finding a new house to rent!
Happy Reading! Dani @ Paulette’s Papers

    • Thank you Danielle. It will be nice to be in a house with a backyard and porch instead of an apartment and no outdoor access unless you go outside the building. I’m excited and happy to have space again. Have a fabulous week and happy reading!!

  4. I am sure it will all fall into place. Don’t stress about the blog- we will all be here. Go have fun and it looks like you are pretty organized.

    • I did plan time off on the blog for my vacation, but didn’t expect to move, so ya. I know it will be ok! It always is, but life changes are always a little stressful especially when you are a mother at the sometime. Lots of things to think about besides yourself.
      Thanks Kimba.

  5. That sounds really heckett. I hope you enjoy your vacation. I don’t reread a lot, but I do relisten or listen to a book that I’ve already read. As a matter of fact, I relistened to one last week. I shouldn’t have because I have five review books waiting for me to listen to.

    • I know I should be re-reading since I have like five review books to get too, ^_^ but sometimes we just need that old favorite. It was a hectic week. I’m glad I will be on vacation and can relax before things get hectic again. Thank’s for stoping in.

  6. Yes our rent went up EVERY YEAR. It was so frustrating! And we had trouble finding a place that not only allowed pets, but that allowed large dogs! Its was nearly impossible. Thankfully thought, my husband and I just bought our new house at the end of May so I don’t have to stress about it any more. But, I know your pain!
Enjoy your vacation and have a great week!

    • I never expected to have so many issues with renting an apartment and looking for home to rent. In the mid-west it’s not this bad. I’m just glad we finally found a nice place to works for the whole family and I can finally finally have a fenced in backyard again. Our dog is going to be so happy and I’m looking forward to sitting outside again and reading. I wish we could buy, but OMG CA is ridicules on house prices. No way No how are we ever going to being at least not right now.
Thank’s Samantha for stoping by. I’m excited for our vacation!! ^_^

  7. Woah! You and I are in the same boat. The Mr. told me last week that he wanted to move as well. Meanwhile, I’m stressing out because it’s the beginning of summer and most people are moving/already moved during this time in our area. So trying to find a house is brutal. It also doesn’t help that we have a cat and a dog. So many places don’t allow pets. I wonder if you and I are looking at the same houses here in CA. LoL If so, good luck. We’ve been checking Zillow and HotPads every day and aren’t really coming up with much. 🙁

    • Another CA. YA, I’m glad to find someone else in CA. Yes, summer is the time to move or already move. If you have kids (not the pet kids) people want to get into school districts. The other thing is lots of leases end in the summer and of course the rent keeps going up for apartments, so you either pay it or move.

We where looking in San Bruno and Millbrae area. My hubby needs the bart to get downtown for work. I know trying to find a place that accepts dogs is hard. Cats where ok, but no dogs, unless they are the little ones. We looked at Zillow and Craigslist. The house we found and are moving into we found on Craigslist. We had a very limited area since we didn’t want to go to far out or over the bridge in SF.

Good luck in your search. Hope you find something that works. Have a great day and a fabulous week Kristin! ^_^
