Sunday Post/BB&B #118 ~ Life

SP-STS-BBB-Banner01-angelsgp

SP-BBB-STS-Banner03-angelsgpThis is my take on the Sunday Post, BB&B, & Stacking The Shelves.

Another week has gone bye and I am participating in the Caffeinated Book Reviewer Sunday Post, where we recap the past week on the blog, things to come, showcase books & giveaways plus much more.

I also participate in BB&B/Stacking The Shelves. The BB&B is inspired by The Story Siren, Talk Supe, Pop Culture Junkie, and Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, wither they are bought, borrowed, bagged (Won or Gifted). It can be physical or virtual additions to your shelves.

PERSONAL NOTES:

Moving SUCKS! I grew up in one house and never moved until I went away to college and after that it’s been move after move. I am so DONE!!! I keep saying the last move is the last, this is it and of course life happens. Last week we moved from the apartment into a house we found to rent. I’ve used Two Men & A Truck before, they where great, but this time OMG. It was a disaster. I paid for the packing service; because my hubby has a bad back and other issues and me my knee gives out after to much heavy lifting and walking. We are only in our early 30’s, but at times I feel so old. =/ Now back to the packing service: they came the day before to box up, but didn’t have enough boxes to pack everything. Who doesn’t bring extra’s?? Ah! Then the next day was the load and unload into the truck. They started at 10am and didn’t get everything packed until 9:45pm. Add in trying to keep a 4-year-old occupied while the mover’s do their thing and it becomes a long day. It’s a 3 bedroom apartment. Most of the stuff was still in boxes from the previous move. Really it shouldn’t have taken that long. Once they got to our new place all they could do was unload the beds, so we had something to sleep on. By this time it’s an hour and half past our sons bedtime. Moving SUCKS. This one was just awful. The next day (unload day) went great. The guys that came where nice, did their job, and put everything where we asked. (Ok, rant over with) ^_^

Before the trip and move I was getting food from HelloFresh. You can set it up to receive once a week, once a month, or whenever you want. I did it when I liked the food for that week. I kept the recipes they sent me and this week I made two of the meals again that we liked: Pan-Seared Pork w/Onion Gravy, Broccolini & Rosemary Mashed Potatoes and Penne Arrabbiata w/Pancetta, Chili, & Parmesan.

I was thrilled to see myself quoted/featured in Amanda Carlson’s newsletter for her new series Struck (Phoebe Meadows) series! Take a look. You can check out my review HERE & an Interview HERE on the blog.

When I got back from vacation and just before our move. This arrived (signed inside) in the mail from Author Sharon Kay. She is an amazing author. I love her Watcher’s and the Solstice Series; both are set in the same world. Check out my review for Captive’s Kiss HERE plus an excerpt.

Owner/Review and mind behind Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. However what I am not is a writer. I apologize now for the grammatical and punctuation errors I make, because I know I’m going to make them. I’m a mother, wife, dog owner, animal, and book lover. My favorite animals are horses. As for reading I love all things paranormal & urban fantasy. My favorite shifters are dragons!

  1. UGH! What a bad moving experience. I hope you will be there for a while now.

I love seeing friends (and my own) quotes listed in places by authors or in books. I think my biggest day was when Nalini Singh linked a quote of my review to the post on her blog. So awesome! <3

    • That is awesome Nalini Singh linked to one of your quotes. How amazing. It’s such a great feeling to see your words quoted by the author some place with their work. I’ve been quoted on three books, a few websites, and other places. For only being a newbie blogger, with three years doing this, It’s an exciting feeling to see my inspirational words show up some place. It makes the time I put in, feel worth it.

Ya, Moving was a disaster this time. Glad it’s over and we are all settled.

Thank’s for stoping in Jen. It’s always fun to hear from others. Have a great week! ^_^

  2. I HATE moving, too! I get panicky and really, really cranky. Since I went to college and graduated (in Dec. 2012) I have moved over 25 times. I cannot stand it. Those packers don’t sound like they were working too hard. How frustrating! I hope you’re all settling into the new house alright!

    • Hi Charlie, We are settled. I’m glad it’s over. We are planning on being here for a long time, but as everyone knows life happens and who knows we might have to move again, but I hope not. At least for a while. I have no idea what was up with the movers. We had one working hard the other not so much and other issues that came up. Such a long day.
Have a wonderful week and thank’s for stoping in.

  3. Ha..yes moving sucks. The last time we moved, I loaded our five bedroom house with few friends, since my husband had already moved to new location to work. It was exhausting. Hope the new place is wonderful 🙂

  4. We used 2 men and a truck for our move in June and it was horrible! I have used them before as well and always been happy. This time it took them FOREVER!!!! And when you’re paying by the hour, that sucks! Oh well-its over now!! Enjoy your new place!

    • Ya, the same thing happened with us. We used them before and it was great, but this time OMG!! I wanted to pull my hair out and I was so tired afterwords and I didn’t have to move the stuff. I’m glad it’s all over. We LOVE the new place and our dog Saphira is so happy to have a backyard again and the freedom she use to have. Have a fabulous week!

  5. Moving sucks royally. My husband never wants to accept help and it’s the most tiring thing ever. Everyone wants to know why we don’t move close to work now that my kids aren’t in school anymore. I’m just not doing again for as long as I can help it.

  6. I’ve moved several times as a kid. I’ve been in the same house for the past 13 years. I don’t want to move just because of the fact I don’t want to do the moving parts. Glad you got moved okay. Hope you have a great week.
