Angel’s Monthly Wrap Up – September 2016

Over on Herding Cats and Burning Soup, Anna, does a Monthly Wrap Up for her blog. After thinking on the subject I decided to stop doing the Sunday Post (a weekly post) hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and instead I’ll be doing a Monthly Wrap Up on the blog. You can check out my last Sunday Post. I made this change; because their where a lot of changes in my every day life. I was feeling overwhelmed and bogged down from the blog and life. I had to make a change. I don’t ever want the blog to become a chore.

Fall arrived so fast and now we are going into October, Halloween. Where has the year gone? It was a busy month on the blog. I featured new types of posts and had some fun giveaways for everyone to enjoy.

Soccer has started full force on the weekends. Our son is doing AYSO Youth 5 this year and he is just loving it. We (mom and dad) are having fun too. It’s a great experience for everyone and wonderful family time.

Football season started this month on TV. I love watching College game day. GO IRISH!! I’m not a big NFL fan, but I’ll watch. GO BROWNS!! We also have soccer going on the TV, almost every night. I finally watched The Avengers: Age of Ultra and Captain America: The Winter Solder. Loved both moves. Lots of action and adventure.

I bought some new plants for outside our rental house. When we lived in our home in St. Louis, MO I use to have a bunch of plants, but then we started to move from apartment to apartment, so I never bought anything new until now. I’m so happy to have a place to do plants and garden again. I also did some decorations for fall/halloween.

  1. I added the first book of Edwards’ Black Dog series and the first of the Knights of Stone Mason for free on Amazon. Thanks for bringing those series to my attention. Love gargoyles! I use my library all the time. Don’t have room or money to buy all the books I want so it is a great way to get them.

    • That is wonderful you picked up Knights of Stone and Dog with a Bone. I love the Black Dog series. I haven’t tried Highland Gargoyles series yet, but it sounds good and I can not one-click a freebie ^_^.

I understand about not having room or the money to buy all the books. The library is great for both. We use to live in an apartment and space was limited, so I couldn’t own a lot of books and actually donated a lot to the library before we moved. Now we have a home, but still I limit my book purchases to those books I WILL read again. I’ve found several great authors at the library and it gives me a great chance to try out the author/book before I decide if it is one I will buy and read again. It’s a great money saver.

Thank’s for stoping in and I hope you enjoy the books you picked up. Have a great month!

  2. People seem to forget you can get movies at the library. I don’t do it a lot, but I have gotten several over the years. Looks like you got some great books. Several of them I’ve either read, or have own my list to read very soon. Hope you have a great month. 🙂

    • Ya I forgot about the movies and cd’s you could borrow from the library. I’m so glad I can get movies their. Since I became a mom 4 years ago I don’t get to the movie theater or rent movies anymore, so I’m finally catching up on all the movies I had on my want to watch list and I get to do it for FREE with my library. WOOT!

I picked up a lot of books this month either freebies or review copies. I was doing great on my review reading, but this last week of the month I just stopped. Needed to get life caught up on and just relax, but I’m ready to start back up again. I’m excited for several of the books I got to read. I’ve been waiting for a lot of them to come like FREED, A Very Jaguar Christmas, Breath of Fire, Fish Out of Water, & Of Flame and Light.

Thank’s for stoping in. I’m looking forward to October. I’ve got several Hops coming and several great reviews too. ^_^
