Angel’s Monthly Wrap Up – April 2017

WOW! Where has they year gone? We are already done with April.

April was a very busy month for me and my family. My son had spring break the week of Easter and grandma came to visit. I love when grandma Rollie is in town. We do so much and my boy gets to spend time with family. I got little breaks, which is nice, but only one book read during the break. That is how it goes. Not sure how summer is going to be, since my boy is off for two months and I have no camps set up for him.

What we did was celebrated a family members birthday, went to a cousin’s baseball game, did a little Easter hunt, went to several parks (Lands End Lookout), planted for Earth Day and much more.

My son’s Aunt had a birthday!

My garden has been doing great. We planted more on Earth Day to celebrate and as you can see they look nice. I love watching the change and growth.

Last, my hubby bought me a used/new MacBook Air. I’ve been wanting a laptop for sometime now. I love being outside. I wanted a way to blog, check social media, and read outside. I still have my iMac which I love, but now I don’t have to be stuck indoors. I can work outside. Living in CA we have a lot of warm and sunny days. Now, I just need to buy some patio future for our rental place. I have my blue chair and the plastic chairs that came with the rental, but I need a table to sit my laptop on. I have the black leg thing, but I’m finding it hurts after a while using it. I’ll survive for now.

  1. Sounds like you had a busy and fun April! I hope your son enjoyed his spring break. Looks like you did a lot of fun stuff!

That’s nice your got a laptop. It must be nice to sit outside and blog. Although I still prefer a computer to a laptop, I can see the benefits of a laptop.

Oh the rainbow Fish, I remember that book from when I was a kid. I never realized they had it in english too.

Looks like you got a lot read this month. I hope May is a good month too!

    • We did a lot of fun activities and it was very enjoyable. This last week has been over 75 outside and sunny. It’s been a great week to sit outside on the patio and blog, read, and write reviews. So refreshing. I love my iMac, but I love having the ability to go outside and work when the weather is wonderful.

We liked The Rainbow Fish. I think they print it in several languages. I’ve got more kid books on hold at the library to pick up soon. We read every night before bed.

It was a good month for reading. Not as many books read, but still good. May is starting off nice and the first week has passed with three reads. That’s usual, so I’m back in my blog/reading grove after the Spring Break and family visit.

Have a wonderful Month and weekend. ^_^

  2. What a great month! Love all of the photos. How fun yall got to do so much family time 🙂

  4. April seems to have been a crazy month for everyone! Having little ones would really make it crazy! I can’t wait to get to Silver Silence! I have so many review books to read. I’m doing Kimberly’s May ARC Clean Sweep this month so I can try and get caught up. It’s crazy. Congrats on the new laptop! We’ll be seeing lots more from you now I bet! 🙂

    • Ya, April was a little crazy and having kids is fun, but also stressful. It’s always better when family is in town to help out.
Silver Silence is soooo good. You will love it. Have tissues. That’s all I’m going to say.
I need to read a few ARC’s that are over 8mo old that I didn’t get too, but I keep picking up other books and newer releases. I’ll get them done. That’s my goal for this year to clear them out.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading!

  5. What a beautiful post. And so much happening for you. Have fun with family and all of those great new books. Now I want to do some more gardening. LOL

    • Thank you Laura. It was a fun month and so much fun when grandma is in town. It was fun planting and great to watch my boy take an interest in grading and Earth Day. Thank’s for stopping by. Have a fabulous week and happy reading!

  6. I love my MacBook air!! Like you, I too need patio furniture. Plus, our house faces east, so in the afternoon/evening our back deck is SCORCHING hot. The only trees are near the back of the property. So I need a chair and an umbrella. Patio furniture is expensive though!
You had an awesome reading month! Way to go! We read a few of the same books.
    Have a wonderful May!

    • April was a little slow on the reading. I did a few rereads at the begging of the month.
Yes, patio furniture can be expensive. I’m going to look around and garage sales are starting to pop up, so maybe I can find something. We have full sun in the back go our patio all day, but at least we have a patio cover to shad us.
      Have a great week!!

  7. I see a theme with those movies. LOL. Glad you had a great month. It sounds like a lot of fun. I was able to get two new trees on Earth Day (I planted the Sunday after). My garden doesn’t have much to show at the moment, but it should in a few weeks.

    • When I lived on the farm. We would plant a tree every earth day, but now that I’m in a city. I can’t do that, so we picked out a strawberry plant and a rose bush. It was fun to see my boy have fun in the dirt. He still tried to not get his hands dirty. It was so cute. ^_^ I know the movies. My boy is into legos, so lego movies it was.

  8. You have had a very busy month indeed! I love it when kids get involved with the earth. We need her to survive. Thank you for sharing these great photos with us. I really do enjoy reading this blog.

    • Mary I’m glad you are enjoying the blog. I don’t share to many pictures of me, but this was a very fun and exciting month. Have a great week!
