Interview: Rebecca Royce (Meeting Them)

Posted on by

What do you do when you are not writing?

I have three sons–they’re 11, 9 and 7. I take care of them, see that they’re getting their school work done. I clean the house (very exciting, I know.) Have lunch with friends. See movies. Watch television. I travel, as much as I can with three kids. I go to my childrens’ extracurricular activities. I’m a huge foodie. I love great restaurants. I hang out with my husband. I read, a ton. Wow–I am really, really, really dull.

How did you choose the genre you write in?

It chose me. I just felt compelled to do it. I wish I had a better answer but I fell in love with doing it.

If you could have dinner with any three authors (alive or dead, who would you choose and why?

Lia Davis, Heather Long, and Ripley Proserpina just because I love them and I’d love to have a dinner.

If you could have given your characters one piece of advice before the opening pages of Meeting Them, what would it be and why?

Paloma–duck. (You’ll have to read it to get that…)

What scene was your favorite to write in Meeting Them?

Tommy is very off put-ish with Paloma at the beginning. And then there is a scene where they finally get each other–I loved writing that.

Meeting Them (Wings of Artemis)

Rebecca Royce

Content warning: Reverse Harem. Intense.

Paloma Delacroix has suffered greatly for a mistake in her youth. She dreams of a future she wonders if she can ever have. But for all her imagination, Paloma can’t predict what is about to happen. Thomas, Clay, Keith and Quinn McQueen are men with secrets and a past that keeps them on the run. But when life explodes around Paloma, the McQueens will be all that stands between Paloma and death.

Her sweet nature and strength make them believe the universe might not be as awful as they’ve come to believe it. But is it too late for all of them? Or can love win the day?

As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.

I am the mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. I live in Austin Texas where I am determined to eat all the barbecue in town.

I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I’ve been told I’m a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you’ll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

I’d love to hear from you!

Cheers!!

  1. I am so into reverse harem stories lately (okay for like the past 2 years when I first discovered CL Stone). I have a Rebecca Royce book on my kindle and I am itching to get to it! Great interview!
And I love the authors she mentioned!

  2. I haven’t seen this series before, now I am curious. If I could have lunch with an author, it would be Stephen King, love to pick his brain. Also Anne Bishop!
