Angel’s Monthly Wrap Up – June 2017

June was full of new adventures. Now that school is out the library is doing their summer reading program. My son got a free book and we started the reading challenge. We also went to our library’s storytime for the fist time. It’s offered every Thursday in the morning throughout the summer for kids. We both had fun. We attended the T/K & Kindergarten Enrichment program that is being offered throughout the summer on Mondays at our library. They have a bunch of these classes for those kids going into Kindergarten to participate in. I hadn’t signed him up in advance, but they had space open and so we went. We where only their to return books and pick out new stuff. I’m glad we went, because he loved it and we meet another kid who will be going to his new school.

My son had one week of LEGO camp. Yep, they have LEGO camp. It was such a blast that we signed him up for another week that will be in July.

We went to opening day to see Cars 3. I loved that a girl became the hero and I laughed a lot. My son had a great time and wants to go back and see it again. While you are reading this we will be seeing Despicable Me 3 at the Theaters this morning. Hope it’s as good as the previous two. We love the Minions ^_^.

My flowers are blooming. They are so pretty. The weather has been wonderful, so I’ve been reading and working outside. We have also been heading to the park for some family fun with our dog Saphira in tow. We’ve only had a few days that where very very HOT. To hot to be outdoors. Of course houses in CA don’t have A/C, so that makes those hot days not so fun. We do have one room that has an A/C, but it would be nice to have a home with A/C again.

Finally after 3 years I got the Continue Reading Button on the blog to work and take you to the actual post page when you click on it. Ever since I set up the Rundown Theme on WordPress I’ve search and search for a help site that gives clear and decisive directions on how to fix the issue. I finally found what I needed. So, If you have or plan to use the Rundown Theme you may want to read this help post on how to fix the Continue Reading Button.

I’ve also started a new feature of Win It Wednesday, which will run throughout the summer. The latest Win It Wednesday is for a copy of The Sight by Chloe Neill.

Congratulations to Mary D. who won a $3.00 Amazon eGift Card during the Exclusive Email Subscriber Giveaway.

  1. I wish they had Lego camp when I was a kid. Looks like you got some great books. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts. You have an awesome library. I’m sure mine offers some great stuff that I don’t take advantage of. Hope you have a great week.

    • I wish I had a Lego camp too when I was growing up. It was fun and at the end they did a special project to show parents. So cute.

Our library is nice. I like the options and I’m teach my little man how to navigate and use the library. ^_^

  2. You had an awesome month. I love your flowers and Lego camp sounds like a blast!

    • My garden is coming along. I’m so happy to be out of an apartment and into a house. It’s been a year now in the new place and it’s feeling more and more like a home.

LEGO camp was a blast. I wish we had one when I was younger. Have a great July!

  3. Woo! That is a lot of good stuff in a month. Yay for camp being fun! And for all the reads/wins. That’s awesome 😀

    • June was a pretty awesome month both for the Blog and in RL.

Camp it was the first time he has done a camp. It was only three hours in the AM, but still a first experience for everyone. I’m so glad he loved it and since he did we signed him up for the one in July. ^_^

I’m excited to see all my winning books. Many of the authors I haven’t had the pleasure of reading yet and others I like.

Have a safe and happy 4th Anna.

  6. PS. I want those Jennifer Ashley paperbacks! 🙂

    • With her moving to Indie I don’t know if they will still be out or how it’s going to work, so you may want to grab them now. I had money at B&N that I needed to spend. It was from the big refund lots of people got for eBooks about a year ago. I heard that we need to spend that money by a certain date, so I got all the novellas she has published. Love the covers!

  7. Wow, what a month for you! Is that Kerrelyn Sparks the beginning of a new series or is it one of that lonnnggg series I want to start but am intimidated by?
Tanya @ Rantings of a Reading Addict recently posted…Review ~ Wild Cat by Jennifer Ashley @JennAllysonMy Profile

    • No this Sparks is the beginning of a new series. How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days is book one in The Embraced series. It’s really good. I was surprised with how much I ended up liking it, because at the beginning I was like ummm and I didn’t realize it was Historical Fantasy either. ^_^

  8. WOW! You have been busy. First a LEGO camp!! That would have been so much fun if we had that growing up. Looks like your son will be busy reading. This is good because it is really healthy for him and he will grow to love books even more. I love your furbaby! So beautiful! You have so many books that you have won and read. I see you have read Under Her Skin. I’m curious about what you thought of the book. Also, your so lucky to get an advanced copy of Drankons Plunder! I have it ordered but have to wait until the third. I’m so excited to read it!!! Have a great weekend!!

    • LEGO Camp: I feel you!

We have read time since the time he was born. Every night he gets to pick out 2 or 3 books for reading before bed. He likes to go to the library and pick out his own stuff to enjoy. Great fun and good experience.

Thank you on my furbaby. She is wonderful and full of color.

I know this month was a lucky month on winning giveaways. Some of those books I already have, so I’ll be doing giveaways with them. I haven’t told my hubby I won. If he new and saw all those books coming he would have a cow. He doesn’t want me to have physical books, but I can’t help it. I love physical books. Their is just something about holding a really book in your hands, feeling those pages turn, and the smell. ^_^

Yes, I’ve read Under Her Skin in a box set I got. You can check out my review for Under Her Skin HERE. I really enjoyed it. It was unique and different in regards to the shifters we usually get.

Drakon’s Plunder (Blood of the Drakon, #3) comes out July 3rd, so you don’t have much longer to wait. I just started it and I love Ezra Easton – water dragon.

Have a great weekend and happy reading!

      • Thank you for the link to your review. I will check it out. And I agree about the physical book in your hands. There is nothing better than the feel and the smell. Have a super weekend!!
