The New York Times bestselling author of Guardian's Matereturns to the world of the Shifters and a tale of a new love under fire...

A man is only as strong...

Red wolf Shifter Dimitri has fought his whole life for respect. It is claimed that red wolves are tainted with coyote blood and therefore not pure. He may not be skilled at verbally defending himself, but because he's a bodyguard, tracker, and champion of the fight clubs, his fists are always ready for some rough and tumble. However, he'd prefer a roll in the hay with the woman who is his oldest friend.

...as the woman who's got his back...

A spirited leopard Shifter and a fellow tracker, Jaycee Bordeaux has no problem forging a mate bond with Dimitri, but soon the two are called to infiltrate a rogue group bent on enslaving Shifters. Jaycee may have defended Dimitri from taunts before, but they now face a more lethal danger--one that threatens not only the future of their people, but also their love.

Red Wolf is gripping, exciting, nerve wracking, and had me falling more in love with this series. I relished this installment.

Jaycee is strong, capable, and reluctant to accept the mate claim. Dimitri is strong, sexy, and has a stutter which only adds to his character. The reluctant’s that Jaycee has was handled well and the stutter only added to Dimitri’s unique character aspect. The romance is sweet and these two worked well together.

I absolutely loved returning to the sentient house. We got a small taste of this unique house in Wild Things, so to come back and see more. It was fabulous. We also get to go to fairy and that aspect was exhilarating and the danger is heart stoping.

Red Wolf was crafted together superbly and is a breathtaking addition.

Rated: 4 Stars

  1. I haven’t read anything by this author, but from your review this does sound like a good series. The characters sound realistic and the romance well done. That sentient house sounds awesome!

    • I really enjoyed the sentient house. I hope we come back too it. I like the series. It’s been enjoyable and the characters are pretty fun and unique. My favorites in the series are the human/shifter hook ups, but all have been great. I think you would enjoy!

  2. It is on my list. LOL I sound like a broken record.

    • I know that feeling…. So many on my list ^_^.

  3. I loved that house, it’s awesome! It showed so much of itself in this book. Dmitri and Jaycee were fun characters. She was so reluctant, but yet you could tell she already considered herself mated. Great review!

    • I loved the house too. Yes, Dimitri and Jaycee where a fun couple.

  4. Great review Angela! Love this cover too! Shared on all my socials!!

    • Thank you for sharing!

  5. I have this book, but I haven’t read the rest of the series. Is it necessary?

    • I’d say yes and no. Why is because we do have an underlining storyline continuing throughout the series and previous characters that pop back up and play some roles, but then again no because the story and romance for each book can stand on their own too. Some of the books in the series go off to other shiftertowns and those characters don’t come up in this one. I’d say read maybe books 1 & 2 and maybe novella 7.75. Why 7.75 because the house that is featured in this book is showcase in that novel. Why books 1 & 2 because it shows some of the main characters that pop back up and their roles in the shifter world. It doesn’t show you everyone, but it’s a good start to understand the dynamics of the characters.

Forgot to mention that Dimitri & Jaycee are introduced to us in White Tiger.

  6. So glad you enjoyed reading this. not sure if you have read all the books in this series but they just get better and better. I absolutely love this series!! Can’t wait for the next books to come out!

    • I’ve read all the books in the series. Loved them too. It’s a fun series that keeps growing.
