Angel’s Monthly Wrap Up – Dec. 2017

It’s the last day of December. OH MY! Where did the year go? I can’t believe tomorrow is a new year. Well I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I’ve still got family in town. I had one set of grandparents for Christmas and once they left the next day the second set arrived, so I’ve still got family in town. I’m going through book withdrawal. I like the Holidays, but I never get any me time, so my reading is nil until everyone leaves and the boy goes back to school.

I do get into a baking frenzy around the Holidays or in December. I made 2 pecan pies, 2 cherry pies, chocolate chip cookies, and Herr Kuchen. Now doesn’t all those yummy deserts just make you hungry? ^_^

CHRISTMAS EVE! We have a tradition of letting the little man open one small to medium present on Christmas Eve. The present he opened had two books in it. Bear Wants More & Bears New Friend. We love the bear books and now he’s got the complete collection.

CHRISTMAS DAY! The boy made out. He got some Hot Wheels play sets, Hot Wheels cars, the Nintendo Switch (which he asked Santa for), and some major MineCraft stuff. I also got some great gifts: Echo Spot (I’m loving this device), iRoboot Roomba 600 Series, Gift Card to Amazon (now I can get some books), and a few movies + coffee and hot coco. The dog also made out with rawhides. My hubby got cloths and gift cards. It doesn’t help when I asked him for gift ideas and I didn’t get any, so I fell back on the traditional white undershirts and gift cards to iTunes and Uber. ^_^

This month we also lost our only fish. A goldfish. He wasn’t do good once we got back from our Florida Disney Vacation in November. He lasted about another month and then passed on, so I bought a new fish. My son loves the new fish and has named him Cullen plus he’s my sons favorite color, blue. I like the white on the fines. It adds some pizzazz.

  1. The holidays went by so quick this year! It looks like you guys really did well! I didn’t get a Roomba, I got a Bob. Supposedly the same thing but I can’t control him with my phone, just a remote control. We’ll see how he does. You snatched up those Ilona Andrews in December! Such awesomeness!

    • Yep, I saw Andrews books on sale for audio and just had to grab them. I’m loving the audiobook’s for Kate Daniels. Very nice a Bob. I hope you are liking it.
      Happy New Year

  2. What a baking champion, even though Christmas has passed, I still drool at the sight! You have sure stacked up some plenty of reading for 2018. I have read all the N Singh books but want to reread through Audible, one day! All the best for 2018 reading and living!

    • I did pick up some great books to read in 2018. I’m excited fro them all. Singh’s Psy-Changeling has been amazing in audiobook. I still have a ways to go, but I’m enjoying the re-read / listen for the first time. Thank’s for stopping in Kathryn and Happy New Year!

  3. Love the Magic series on audio. I read first and then listen. Those goodies look so delicious and I am hungry now. The fish is so pretty. Happy New Year

  6. Sorry to hear about the fish. I have koi in the pond and some inside as well. It is sad when they pass. The desserts looks delicious!! I love homemade desserts! And it looks like your boy did well for Christmas. The fish is very pretty. What kind is he/she? It’s hard to tell from the photo.

    • We got a fighting fish, Bette. The desserts where yummy. The boy had fun. He is now sick this last week in December and will be ringing in the new year with a cold =/.

  7. Looks like you had a great Christmas. I always opened a present Christmas Eve when I was a kid. It was always new PJs, so that we were in fresh PJs for Christmas pictures the next day. I do really want a Roomba. I’m really jealous. I hope you enjoy it enough for both of us. 😀

    • The Roomba is nice. I’m enjoying for the both of use ^_^. Christmas was fun and I like our tradition. Glad we don’t get PJ’s though. ^_^

  8. It sounds like you had a great Christmas. Those baked goods look so good. We have had the same tradition since I was a kid opening one small gift on Christmas eve. I still go to my parents to do it even as a grown adult. Have a great 2018.
