Sign Up Open ~ 2018 Library Love Challenge

Welcome to the second annual Library Love Challenge hosted by Angel’s Guilty Pleasures & Brooke Blogs.

I hope you will join use in celebrating and support libraries.

#LibraryLoveChallenge

If you are like use then you like to purchase every book you want to read. And, well that can put a hurt on your wallet. One way to help lessen the hurt is to check out books (prints, ebooks, or audios) from the library. If you do this then it will help save you LOTS of money $$.

Getting a library card in most places is FREE. So, if you love to read and/or listen to books then grab your library card and join the challenge.

Details:

Runs: January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018. You can join any time.

  • Put a sign up post on your blog or (dedicate a Goodreads shelf or LibraryThing) and link it below. Make sure it’s public.
  • The goal is to read at least twelve (12) books from the library, but you can read more. While twelve is the minimum, there is no maximum limit. See the different levels below and pick the one that works best for you.
  • Any format will work for this challenge (prints, ebooks, or audios); as long as you checked it out from the library, it counts.
  • Books can be any genre (fiction, nonfiction, romance, fantasy, mystery, thriller, horror, etc.).
  • Crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed, including re-reads. The goal is to support your local library and save money.
  • Write a review to enter the giveaway – 2 sentences or an essay, whatever works for you, but there is a minimum of 2 sentences. Not sure what to write? How about something like, “The plot was a delight, but the characters didn’t capture me.” “I enjoyed the story and really liked the characters.”
  • As an added bonus: We are offering up a GIVEAWAY with this Challenge. Winner will be picked at the end of the year!! The entries are the direct links to your book reviews and you will have until Jan. 3rd, 2019 to enter your reviews in the linky and then the Rafflecopter. 8. Hi Angela, I am for the Library Addict level. This year I completed 47 books, so I should be able to do it again. I’m not sure I signed up in the right place and am a bit fuzzy with linky postings, but I’m willing to learn. I have your button on my sidebar. Looking forward to participating.

    • No worries Dar. I removed you from the Review link up. You are signed up on the correct linky for the challenge. When you complete a review, if you plan to enter the giveaway, then you put it into the review link up found HERE. I’ve added an example for everyone to see how to do it. Have fun and thank’s for joining.

  9. I’m looking forward to this challenge, though I think I initially signed up in the wrong spot on your site. I am going to try for Overdrive Junkie level with aspirations of burning my through my library card. So glad I found your challenge.

    • I’m glad to see you back for 2018. Keep loving your library!

  16. I tried this challenge last year and didn’t quite reach my goal of 50+ books from the library. I only got 40. So I’m trying again this coming year with the goal of “Library Addict”. 🙂 Thanks for hosting this challenge!

    • Even though you didn’t make your challenge goal for 2017. That’s great you tried and wonderful you used your library. You are welcome and we’re glad to have you joining us again.

  18. […] Love those library’s and make sure to join me and Brooke Blogs in the 2018 Library Love Challenge. […]

  19. Thanks for the invitation, Angela. I’m very excited to give this one a try. I’m starting low since even 12 books is double my usual. I’ll track actual books on my GoodReads shelf and update numbers on our blog’s Monthly Report. I already turned in my Challenges Initial post so this one will be a nice add-in later. 🙂

    Cheering everyone on! 🙂

    • Glad to have you join in the Library Love. Most of my reading comes from my library and boy oh boy have I saved so much $ by using them. I hope you enjoy the challenge. Also come join us in the Goodreads group. It’s a great place to see what everyone read each month and get some encouragement to love those libraries. ^_^

  20. […] The Library Love Challenge is about using the library more. The goal is to read at least 12 books from the library, but I would like to read at least 24 from my library next year. I’ve been spending too much money on books so I’m hoping to keep it down to items I’m buying for author events or romance novels I’m buying on my Kindle app. I also have an audible subscription. That means all the other books need to come from the library. You can sign up here. […]

  21. Looking forward to beating my 2017 results 🙂

  27. If I wasn’t so lazy at tracking challenges, I would so join up on this challenge. I love the library. They save me so much money.

    • That’s why I love Goodreads. I make a shelf for the challenges and put the books in them when I’m reading or done reading them. That way I don’t lose track. Other wise I’d have no idea what I was reading. Before Goodreads it was a word document and OMG that was a mess… ^_^

Hope you might consider joining in. I’ve joined the Audiobook Challenge for 2018 and am excited to give that one a go, now that I’ve become a fan of audiobooks.

  28. Cannot wait to get started on this challenge!

    • Glad to have you join us. ^_^

  29. Oh yay….I love LOVE the library so much. And I am such a fan of them and you can save so much more money.

    • I agree with you. I’ve saved over $650 this year alone on me personal by using my library. They are amazing and have a lot to offer to everyone in any age. Glad to have you join us.

  31. Thank you so much for hosting this! I use the library so much and I’m glad to see theres a challenge to show my library love.

    • Tina, Happy to have you join in and glad to see so many people like the challenge and like to support their library. I love my library. It’s what I go to first before looking other places for a book.

  32. I’m an avid reader. Thanks for promoting local libraries.

    • You are most welcome! Glad to have you join in and celebrate library’s.

  33. Shared on all my socials!

    • Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated! ^_^

  34. Looks like fun! I’m In!

    • Wonderful. Glad to have you!

  35. I am just starting to organize my 2018 challenges and this sounds like a great one. I’ll have to get back to you, but I am flagging this for now.

    • Wonderful. I do hope you join us. This was my very first challenge I ever participated in when I started blogging over 4 years ago. I was sad when the blog hosting stoped and was so excited I could take it over.
