Monthly Library Love – Jan. 2018

Posted on by

A new year has come and the library love challenge is in full swing. I have too say January is a slow month for me. It takes me a while to get back into reading after all the Holiday adventures.

Here is January’s Library Love.
The library is a great place to pick up books, movies, manga, audiobooks, magazines and more. I love my library and the freedom to borrow.
Check out all the wonderful items I picked up this month.

Audiobooks – Hostage to Pleasure, Branded by Fire, Blaze of Memory

Book: Blade Bound

Kid Books – Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson, Finders Keepers by Keiko Kasza, The Adventures of Beekle by Dan Santat, Alone Together by Suzanne Bloom, Before I Wake Up by Britta Techentrup, Places to Be by Mac Barnett, I’ll Hug You More by Laura Duksta, This Book Will Not Be Fun by Cirocco Bunlap, And Then Comes Summer by Tom Brenner

Kid Movies – Dinotrux Reptool Rescue, Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu Hands of Time, Pokemon BW: Adventures in Unova and Beyond Set 2, Power Rangers Time Force The Complete Series, The Angrey Birds Movie, Legends of Chima Season Two, LEGO Hero Factory Savage Planet, LEGO Jurassic World The Indominus Escape, Pokemon Black and White Set 1, Monsters University, The Jungle Book

Movies: Ant-Man, Spider-Man Homecoming, Batman v Superman, London Has Fallen, Pirated of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Alien Convenant

My library has a book store and whenever I visit my library I always stop in to see what they have. I love picking up books at a deal and also getting something to pass onto my followers. I found this beauty to read and then maybe add to my stack of giveaway books.

I’ve read Wolf at the Door and She’s No Faerie Princess in Christine Warren‘s Other series. It was a while ago, but I do remember enjoying them. Then we have Laurell K. Hamilton. I actually bought, a very long time ago, the first three books in eCopy in the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series. I remember liking them, but I never continued or finished the series. I’m thinking I need to start it all over again.

Don’t forget to check out the library love challenge. As an added bones to those that participate we have a giveaway.

I'm an outdoor sun loving reader living near San Fransisco. I’m a mother, wife, animal & book lover. I'm the owner, reviewer & mind behind Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. My favorite animals are horses & dogs. As for reading I love all things paranormal & urban fantasy & my favorite shifters are dragons.

  1. I squealed with delight when I saw your Nalini Singh and Chloe Neill picks. Actually LKH is a favorite too! Enjoy!

    • I’m slowly working my way through the audios for Psy-Changeling and Guild Hunter. I’m doing those between new reads or books I haven’t read yet. Neill well that’s the last one in the Chicagoland series I need to read. I haven’t started the book yet, but I want to get it done before the new spin-off series comes. I read LKH years ago. I’m considering starting the series again because I read unto book 2 or 3 and then I stoped. I do remember really enjoying the books. Not sure why I stoped. So many books, so little time ^_^!

  2. […] It was a slow month for me and the library. I didn’t visit her as much as I usually do. I manly checked out a lot of movies and kid books to read at bedtime with my boy. Take a look at what I did pick up from my library: January 2018 Monthly Library Love […]

  3. I got off to a good start with library books, for me. I didn’t borrow any movies this month. Looks like you did well especially finding the good ones on sale. 🙂

    • I always like to check out the bookstore every visit. You never know what you will find and everything is in great shape some haven’t even been opened. That’s wonderful you got off on a good start with the library. With movies I’m working on the B rated Marvel Movies… These I knew I’d not fully be engaged in, but I want to get all the plots in. I’ve got my Marvel Movie watch list order website. I like superheroes. ^_^

  4. Yay for all the libraries goodies!!

    • ?

  5. I’ve read 4 library books this month. Two audios and two ebooks. I’m a huge fan of The Others series. I’m excited to start her new series. The early Anita Blake books are really good. I know you will love those four you have.

    • I read the first 2 or maybe its 3 in the Anita Blake series years ago and I remember loving the books. I think part of it was it took place in St. Louis and I lived in Fenton, town outside of St. Louis. ^_^ Though I also liked the character Anita and the storyline. The Others is a fun series too. Light, funny, and enjoyable. That’s great you got 4 books from the library. Mainly I’m picking up Audios, but I do get books now and then. January is a little slow for me, but I did get a bunch of Kids stuff to enjoy with my boy.

  6. looks like a great month for you

    • It wasn’t bad.

  7. My library has a book store too! I can get lost in their for hours!!!! I love the library it’s my favorite place to go!!! Shared on all my socials!!

    • Every visit too the library I stop in to see what they have. It’s a small area, but I can’t help myself from checking to see what might be new. I also love the book sale days they do once a month. Thank you for stoping, commenting, and sharing.

    • Wow I wish my library had a book store, what a great idea!

      • The store is books donated to the library or extra copies the library doesn’t need anymore. All proceeds from the sale of the books goes to the library. It’s a nice idea.
