May I Suggest… Giveaway Hop ~ May 1st – 15th

Hosted by Stuck In Books

Well this hop is all about suggesting some fun, enjoyable, and great reads. I’m going to share some book suggestions. All the books featured I’ve read and enjoyed. They are at least 4 stars or up; which means they are ones I would read again. Now I’m not going to share the big named authors. We all know them! I’m going to share with you some smaller named authors that have found their way into my reading library and I keep an eye out for their next release.

Title: How to Save an Undead Life
Series: Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy #1
Author: Hailey Edwards
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Grier Woolworth spends her nights weaving spooky tales of lost souls and tragedies for tourists on the streets of downtown Savannah. Hoop skirt and parasol aside, it’s not a bad gig. The pay is crap, but the tips keep the lights on in her personal haunted mansion and her pantry stocked with ramen.

Life is about as normal as it gets for an ex-necromancer hiding among humans. Until the society that excommunicated Grier offers her a second chance at being more than ordinary. Too bad no one warned her the trouble with being extraordinary is it can get you killed.

Warning: This book contains one ex-con/ex-heiress with a pet zombie parakeet who lives next door to her ex-army/ex-crush. Brace yourself, we’re talking more exes than a pirate treasure map here.

My Review Here

Brief review summery: How to Save an Undead Life is a brand new series by Hailey Edwards. I fell into the mystery and dramatic adventure of who and what Grier Woolworth is. It’s a emotional roller coaster ride for the reader and Grier.

Title: Damnation
Series: Blue Moon Saloon #1
Author: Anna Lowe
Genre: Paranormal Romance – Suspense

He hasn’t forgotten her, and she sure hasn’t forgiven him.

Jessica Macks is a she-wolf on the run from a band of murderous rogues. When she finds a job at a shifter bar, it seems like a safe haven from her hunted life on the road. But the minute she walks through the swinging doors of the Blue Moon Saloon and comes face-to-face with the man she once loved, she’s tempted to march right back out. No way, no how is she risking her heart to that infuriating alpha bear again.

Simon Voss thought he lost everything in an ambush months before: his home, his family, his past. His new job at the Blue Moon Saloon is a desperately needed fresh start on life. Then along comes Jessica, the irresistible she-wolf his clan forced him to reject years before. When Simon is obliged to hire Jessica and work side by side with the one woman to ever make his bear go wild, he’s half in heaven, half in hell. He hasn’t forgotten her, and she sure as hell hasn’t forgiven him. Is this just another path to heartbreak or his last chance to claim his destined mate?

* A paranormal romance with adult content. The perfect read for fans of strong heroines, alpha heroes, werewolves and shapeshifters, red-hot cowboys, romantic westerns, paranormal suspense, action-adventure romance, and fantasy romance! *

My Review Here

Brief review summary: What happens when old hurts still linger and old threats come calling? Damnation is book one in the Blue Moon Saloon series by Anna Lowe. What a wonderful new series that brings us strong heroines, alpha heroes, shifters of all kinds, hot cowboys, action, and much more. Damnation was a sweet second chance romance that will take you on a whirlwind of emotions, action, suspense, and love that never faded.

Title: Vampire’s Kiss
Series: Legion of Angels #1
Author: Ella Summers
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Once you sip the Nectar of the gods, there’s no going back.

Leda Pierce is working as a paranormal bounty hunter on the Frontier, the dividing line between human civilization and the plains of monsters. Life is simple and the pay modest, but at least she has her family. That is, until a vampire hunt goes wrong and her brother goes missing, captured by the dark angels of hell.

With no magical powers of her own and no way to find him, Leda’s only option is to go to New York and join the Legion of Angels, an elite unit of supernatural soldiers with powers gifted to them by the gods themselves. If she can survive long enough to make it up the ranks, she will gain the magic she needs to find her brother.

But Leda soon finds herself on the wrong side of a conspiracy that will shake up the supernatural world—and at the mercy of a fiercely powerful and tempting angel.

My Review Here

Brief review summary: In Vampire’s Kiss we are introduced to the world, to Leda, the Legion of Angel’s, and so much more. Their is quit a lot to wrap your mind around and digest in this first installment. I had a lot of fun reading Vampire’s Kiss. The story captivated and intrigued me. I liked the balance of action and romance. Note: The series has some similarities to the Guild Hunters, but their are enough differences and unique qualities to make this something new and appealing. One similarity is that our heroine Leda has a backbone and talks back to the Angel’s and those higher up in the Legion. She stands up for what she feels is right.
