April 10th:  This week is showcasing books we liked but will never re-read.

These books are all 5 star reviews and ones I loved years ago. I’m scared I won’t love them anymore if I read it now (tastes change, you know?) OR I loved it, but even though I loved it I just new then and now I won’t be re-reading; because their is just to much to read. I also don’t want to re-read; because now I know they had a plot twist I didn’t like in the series or I don’t want to every forget that first feeling of how I felt when I read the book and for some reason I’m afraid I won’t have that same feeling.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

I was introduced to the books by my husbands aunt, who at the time teached teenagers, and they where saying you have to read this. It was, the in young adult book series to read. She read them and said I’d like, so I picked them up and I loved them. I still feel they are amazing and my favorite in the series is New Moon, but now I’m not sure if I’d have the same feeling.

Samson’s Lovely Mortal by Tina Folsom

I feel head over heals for the vampires in Scanguards Vampires series. I liked everything about this book and several others in the series. Their’s humor, mystery, & romance… several key things I enjoy to read.

Full Blooded by Amanda Carlson

I devoured this book. I just loved the werewolves. The lore is unique and bewitching, the characters are dynamic and the wolves are formidable. The action is relentless and the world building is fluid. I liked the previous behind this book/series where Jessica is the only female to have ever been born from a werewolf father.

Sealed with a Curse by Cecy Robson

I devoured this book and each installment after. Their is just so much action, adventure and romance blooming. I liked the uniqueness of all the Weird Sisters  in this book/series and the emotional upheaves we get throughout series had me cursing, crying, and laughing with these characters.

Her Mad Hatter by Marie Hall

I loved the unique spin on Alice in Wonderland. Danika is the fairy godmother to the Bad Five. She’s sassy and funny! She has been tasked with finding the mates of the Bad Five before the year is up or they will be no more. It’s short, but it packs a punch. Hatter and Alice have some obstacles to overcome including Wonderland accepting Alice as one of its own. (I stopped; because this author had too many pen names to keep track off.)

Raphael/Parish (Bayou Heat) by Alexander Ivy and Laura Wright

Interesting world and easy and quick to read. The Pantera are a unique race hiding in the world of humans. Their numbers are slowly declining. There hasn’t been a cub born in many years, so it comes to be a great shock that two of their lead men fall for humans. Two great quick and hot reads!

Seduce by Felicity Heaton

Ever since I read the first book Covet by Ms. FHeaton I was hooked into this series and looked forward to Antonie’s story. Ms. FHeaton knows how to pull her audience into the Vampire Erotic Theatre world and she knows how to write a sex scene that has a real plot and heart to go with it.

Taken by a Vampire by Joey W. Hill

I had know idea what I was getting into when I picked up this novel. Ms. JHill can create a world of passion, protection and Vampire taboo’s. I was pulled into the world she creates with ease able to follow the story even with this being book nine in her Vampire Queen series. I loved the amazing dynamic between Evan, Niall and Alanna. The author put us inside each characters head and made us feel what they felt, the struggles they did, and their desires. The BDSM was scrumptious and it worked. Taken by a Vampire showcases love and compassion overcoming evil.

Carnal Magic by Lila Dubois

It’s a spellbinding paranormal romance. Mrs. Dubois pulled me into her magical world of the Fae and Vampire’s. I was blown away by the mystery and breathtaking description of the world. Everything about it peaked my interests and took me on a fabulous adventure. Bye the end I was wanting more and can’t wait to pick up another book in this series. (Unfortunately another book never came, The Wraith Accords, to complement this one.)

Darkness Everlasting by Alexandra Ivy

Their are several in the Guardians of Eternity that I rated 4 or 5 stars and just loved them. I had a delightful time reading the series and each book kept getting better the more we dived into the world. The series offers a verity of supernatural creatures, hot and sexy men, and strong beautiful women. The world the author creates is believable and adventures. Levet the little gargoyle is hilarious and I think that’s why I loved these books so much. He add humor.

Which books did you enjoy, but will never re-read? Why? Do you ever experience this problem where you’re worried you won’t like a book as much the second time around?

I'm an outdoor sun loving reader living near San Fransisco. I’m a mother, wife, animal & book lover. I'm the owner, reviewer & mind behind Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. 1. I pretty much never reread, so I guess any book I loved is a “book I loved but would never reread.” I agree that sometimes it’s scary to think about rereading and hoping you’ll love the book just as much.

    • I only have a hand full of books/series I’ll re-read. I usually just read it and never get back to re-reading it even if I did love it. Some people (like you) are not rereads. I like to reread. It helps me get out of my reading slumps, humps, and bumps. ^_^

  2. I love Joey W Hill, but I’ve fallen behind in that series. I think the one you have here is the last one I read. I want to pick this series back up. I really love it. I feel the same about Amanda Carlson too. I’m not familiar with the others.

    • I only ever read the one by Joey W Hill. I know it’s a series, but I never picked up any of the others in it. I did love the one I read. Carlson has some wonderful UF series and I really like them. I still have 2 to read Jessica McClain series to finish it out. I just never got around to finishing. Thank’s Melanie for visiting and commenting!

  3. Meyer is a good author though!!! I have tons of books I re-read every year, most of the are FAE and all of them are YA. I even have a few boxed series I take and keep in my camper for when we go in the summer (IF summer ever happens)

    • That’s great you have several you enjoy re-reading and take along with in the camper for the summer. Several people have been having some wacky weather, not spring just rain and snow… Hope summer comes to you too!! Thank’s Sabina for visiting.

  4. I didn’t like Twilight, but I finished the whole series just because, but I will never reread it again! I’m an avid re-reader, too!

    • I like to re-read, but only certain series books. I really liked Twilight and the series, but it’s not one I’ll ever re-read. I hit that band wagon once and no more… ^_^ Thank’s Zeee for visiting.

  5. Some great reads!! I would probably pick the gothic romances i started reading as a young girl,I loved them!! I still love gothic romance, but I’m sure that the ones I read by Victoria holt,Mary stewart, and philipa gregory would seem tame. Shared on all my socials!!

    • Thank’s for sharing some of your picks.

  6. Yes, I quit Marie Hall when she did the weird pen name thing as well. That was a good book, though 🙂

    • I agree it’s a good book and several of the others in that series, but all her pen names… Ah it’s too much.
