Texas Homecoming

Violet Jacobs is fearless. At least, that's what the cowboys she snatches from under the hooves of bucking horses think. Outside the ring, she's got plenty of worries rattling her bones: her young son, her mess of a love life, and lately, her family's struggling rodeo. When she takes business into her own hands and hires on a hotshot bullfighter, she expects to start a ruckus. She never expected Joe Cassidy. Rough and tumble, cocky and charming, Joe's everything a superstar should be-and it doesn't take a genius to figure out he's way out of Violet's league.

Joe came to Texas to escape a life spiraling out of control. He never planned on sticking around, and he certainly never expected to call this dry and dusty backwaterhome. But Violet is everything he never knew he was missing, and the deeper he's pulled into her beautiful mess of a family, the more he realizes this fierce rodeo girl may be offering him the one thing he never could find on his own."

Reckless in Texas is book one in the Texas Rodeo series by Kari Lynn Dell.

Well this was my first Dell novel and I had a pleasant time. I felt like I was on a working farm as well as a working rodeo. It brought back memories of visiting and watching the local rodeo when it was in town.

Joe and Violet. These two didn’t hit it off and rubbed each other wrong from their first meet. I just loved that first meeting. It was a laughable scene in the novel involving a kid, water, and mud. The tension between them was fun to see it turn from irritation to lust and then to liking each other. Both are passionate about the rodeo and both are a little damaged when it comes to relationships. I liked seeing them work together at the rodeo and on their down time. As for Violet, she is a single-mom, but she has her family to help her and the kids dad is a family friend, so no bad feelings their, so we do get to meet her kid and those moments where sweet and funny. I will say I would have liked more interaction with Violets kid and Joe or with them all three together. We don’t really get that aspect and I wanted to see them come together their.

I loved the rodeo aspect. As I said it brought back memories. It was neat to see behind the rodeo scenes of what happens. I could feel the excitement like I was sitting in the stands or waiting on the side lines. The impact the rodeo has in their lives was well done.

And, last I’ve got to say these two had some really funny moments in the intimate department. Can I just say Blue Balls!!! They just couldn’t seal the deal. They had the worst luck every with interruptions or other things and it just took them a while to get their.

I also enjoyed the secondary characters we meet. They where sweet and help bring the story along. We can’t all go it alone and we need our family and friends to stand by us.

I had a delightful time with Reckless in Texas and I’m looking forward to picking up more books in the Texas Rodeo series.

  1. I loved this book, this series is awesome. Kari Lynn Dell is one of my favorite authors. She truly has won this girl’s heart as I grew up in the Rodeo arena and she gave it the Justice it deserves.

    • That’s fabulous. I’ve requested the next in the series from my library. I had a delightful time with Reckless in Texas. It all felt so real. She does do the Rodeo justice. Thank’s for visiting.

    • I need to request the next one in the series. I had a wonderful time visiting the rodeo and a working ranch. It was just perfection on how well she portrayed them both. Thank’s Anna for getting me interested in this series and helping me to add to my TBR. ^_^

  4. I also like cowboys. I have this one on my TBR. I actually got it as a Kindle freebie which was shocking. I had read book 3 in the series without reading any others which almost never happens. So I’m all turned around on this series but need to get back to it. Book 3 is a winner btw Anne – Books of My Heart

    • Glad to know you enjoyed book 3 and found it to be a winner. I really like the covers for this series. They fit..
