Patricia Briggs' Alpha and Omega series - set in a world of shifting shapes, loyalty, and passion - brings werewolves out of the darkness and into a society in which fear and prejudice could make the hunters prey....

They say opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son - and enforcer - of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant alpha, while Anna, an omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind.

Now that the werewolves have revealed themselves to humans, they can't afford any bad publicity. Infractions that could have been overlooked in the past must now be punished, and the strain of doing his father's dirty work is taking a toll on Charles.

Nevertheless, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston when the FBI requests the pack's help on a local serial killer case. They quickly realize that not only the last two victims were werewolves - all of them were. Someone is targeting their kind. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer's sights....

Fair Game is by far my favorite in the Alpha & Omega series. I read this back in 2012 and listened to the audiobook in 2017.

Fair Game has the perfect blend of action, character development, and romance. This novel opened up the door to other supernatural creatures. We see Anna and Charles get involved with a human FBI member and others to solve the murders happening.

Anna has changed and gown since the beginning of the series. She’s slowly developing into a strong women/werewolf as she begins to realize her worth. Charles is a favorite character, I just love reading about him and I love how narrator Holter Graham brings Charles to life. Just having both Anna and Charles POV was great. We are showing that he issn’t the monster everyone thinks he is and Anna can take charge of a situation and stand tall now that she is more comfortable in her skin.

The plot is strong and the setting is fantastic. Briggs blends action and romance splendidly. What I enjoy is how blended everything is and I also enjoy that Briggs doesn’t over do the romance scenes. She has just the right amount and makes them count.

Aug. 2017 Audio Listen: I really love Narrator Holter Graham. He does s superb job narrating the Alpha & Omega series. He is perfect for the characters and his voice is wonderful to hear. He brings the characters to life. It’s wonderful!! Just listening to this audiobook for Fair Game made me want to try out my favorite series by Briggs, the Mercy Thomson series, in audio. As for Fair Game it was amazing and it felt like the first time reading!

Fair Game is undoubtedly a strong novel in the Alpha & Omega series. I adore Briggs writing and loved Holter’s narration. I highly recommend the Alpha & Omega series as well as the Mercy Thompson series. Both are wonderful reads!!

  1. I’ve read all the books in this series, but it’s never appealed to me like the Mercy Thompson books. I may see if the library has an audio book and give it a try. I actually liked Charlaine Harris’ Midnight series much better on audio than in paper.

    • Mercy will always be my favorite. I like Charles and Anna, but I don’t go out and pick up their books as soon as they come out. I still need to read the latest one that came out. I will say the audio, at least for me, brought out a lot more in the book, story, and characters. Thank’s Anne for visiting.

  2. I had this author on my read list for a while and finally ordered the first two books in this series on audible. Can’t wait to meet these characters!

    • Wonderful! I do hope you enjoy and if you get a chance I’d recommend reading the prequel novella of Anna & Charles that can be found in On The Prowl “Alpha and Omega 0.5 by Patricia Briggs”. You don’t have to to start the series, but does give us a great introduction to what Anna went through and how she meets Charles.

  3. I love this series and I’m collecting it on audio. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • I’m going to start collecting this series in Audio after I finish getting Mercy Thompson and Katie Daniels ^_^.

  4. OH… you HAVE to listen to Mercy on audiobook. Lorelei King is AMAZING! I love, love, love her work with Mercy.

This is also my favorite of the A/O series. Both series together are so wonderful!

    • Oh I did. I Adore the Audiobooks for the Mercy series and have started purchasing them. ^_^
I can’t agree more. Both series are wonderful together.

  5. Briggs does an awesome job with both this series and the Mercy Thompson. I still prefer Adam and Mercy over Charles and Anna, but they are BOTH awesome! I’m glad the narration is done so well. I like that narrator!

    • I’m with you Tanya. I prefer Adam and Mercy over Charles and Anna, but both are great. I audio for both series a superb and a lot of fun. That’s why I started purchasing them when my credit is amiable with audible. ^_^

    • I love to revisit/re-listen to my favorites. It also helps break up the new/review books, so I don’t get to overwhelmed. Charles and Anna a great, but Mercy and Adam will always be my favorite, but both couples are awesome ^_^.
