Jupiter and Seneca are Arena Dogs, genetically engineered slaves created to serve at the will of their masters. From the beginning, Jupiter was destined for the gladiator arena where a Dog faces death every day. Seneca became a gladiator only after years of abuse in a pleasure house and he owes his success in the arena to the Dog he secretly loves—Jupiter. Slated for death after a rigged match in the gladiator arena, they’re instead rescued and taken off the planet by the Resistance. When the escape ship is recaptured, their only hope to remain free is a human woman with an agenda and secrets of her own.

Feeona is a thief and a con artist, but that doesn’t make her one of the bad guys. Normally, the Arena Dogs would be safe in her care. Even if she wasn’t crazy attracted to them she’d want to help them, but their presence has interfered with her plans and a cause so close to her soul that nothing can be more important—not even the two men who are rapidly taking up residence in her heart.

Will Feeona find a way to save them all or will she be forced to choose who to save and who to betray?

This is book two in the Arena Dogs Series, but the story is a novel length, stand alone romance.

Tempting Jupiter is book two in the Arena Dogs series by Charlee Allden. Their is action, adventure, deception, heartache, healing, and family/pack.

It’s been a while (2016) since I read book one, Stealing Mercury. It took me a while to get back into the world, but I can say that Tempting Jupiter can be read on it’s own. If you do read book one you have more of a background and some of the previous characters pop back up at the end.

Feeona is a brilliant thief. We start with her in a cell where she meets one of the Arena Dogs who is now a prisoner too. I liked Feeona. She is brilliant and a talented thief. She also has a good heart and does what she can for children forced into slavery.

Seneca and Jupiter are Arena Dogs. They where breed to be used as sex slaves and as warriors in the fighting pits. They are slaves. Some of the arena dogs have gotten free, but still they are hunted. The one thing you have to understand about the arena dogs is that they are pack and share everything.

Seneca was a pleasure slave before being put into the arena as a fighter. His past plagues him. It was hard to learn about his past. I felt for him. He has conflicting feelings about Feeona when she arrives in their lives, because he has feelings for Jupiter. Jupiter is the strong alpha. He’s the tough one and wants to protect Seneca. He doesn’t understand his feeling towards Seneca, but he does understand what he feels for Feeona. With the Arena Dogs being an experiment their genetics are a mystery.

I liked the dynamics between the three of them. Theirs a mixture of different emotions that put you into the character’s shoes. Their are also different sexual preferences (M/F/M – M/M – M/M/F). The sex scenes are tasteful and add to the story. They don’t feel awkward or out of place. As the story moves on you feel the connection these three have, how they help each other heal, and how they will become a family.

Tempting Jupiter was a quick, sexy, and action-packed science fiction romance. I had a wonderful time returning to the Arena Dogs world and meeting more arena dogs. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Rated: 4 Stars

    • It was good. I enjoyed how the author made these three into a couple. It worked out well and the sexy times where good. Not over done. I like the world Allden has created. The Arena Dogs are slaves, but fighting for freedom and a life of their own. I can’t wait to see where the author goes next. The universe aka space is vast.

  3. I enjoyed your review. I don’t usually like stories with a love triangle. This series was recommended to me by someone who knew that. I;d like to try it.

    • That’s great. I’m not into love triangles, but this didn’t have the feel of a triangle. It worked how they became a couple. Instead of the women having two mates, two men, one of the men was mates to a women and his pack mate. It was good and well done. I also like the history of the Arena Dogs and how they are fighting for freedom. The universe is vast and I can’t wait to see where the author goes and what she comes up with next. I hope you enjoy!
