For those that have followed me for a while know that my main and favorite genre(s) is/are Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. This year I’ve made a point of diving into other genre’s. One such genre is Historical Romance, now I typically avoid the genre, but a few bloggers I follow have recommend a few and of course the covers can be eye-catching and the blurb interesting, so here we are with a Historical Romance that I’ve enjoyed and plan on reading more in the series.

Passion flares between enemies
Two hotheaded Highlanders, the offspring of feuding lairds, are tricked by the King’s Regent into a desperate choice: marry or die. Bhaic MacPherson is more disposed to lead his clan into battle than stay married to the daughter of his enemy. But perhaps the intensity of his feelings has more to do with desire than hostility.

And the Highlands ignite
Ailis Robertson wanted a husband, not a savage-but when her family was faced with a deadly ultimatum, she had no choice. The union of a MacPherson and a Robertson could end three generations of hostilities between the two families, but can bitter rivals truly become lovers?

I’d love to hear from you.

  1. I’ve only read a few historical romances, but I actually did enjoy them. One of these days I’ll pick up another.

    • It’s a genre I hesitate at to pick up. Mary Wine has done a great job with the genre and I’ve enjoyed books 2 & 3 in this series.

  2. Great pick angela! I would say for me it’s steampunk! I read A Study in Silks by Emma Jane Holloway. It was very good. I might read more from this genre.?? shared on my socials!

    • Thank’s for sharing a genre you have jumped/tried out. ^_^ I haven’t done the Steampunk, but maybe one day.

  3. Historical Romance is something that I’ve never tried, but then there hasn’t been any that have really jumped out at me. I might try it one day. I’m glad you found something that you could enjoy within the genre.

    • Ya, HR is a genre I generally avoid. It has some things I can’t get my head around, so I don’t go for it, but I have to say this author and series has captured me and I’m enjoying the books.
