Kaleb “Hawk” Tepes, as president of the Sons of Sangue and descendant of Vlad III, needs to keep his head focused on club business. Trouble is someone wants to divest him of it for a crime he committed against his vampire predecessors. He can’t afford distractions, especially those that come in the form of a five-foot-two sprite named Suzi, who once belonged to his nephew. In a moment of weakness, he makes a snap decision that can only spell trouble. Now faced with the one person who wants him dead, Kaleb must make the ultimate sacrifice or chance losing the only woman he truly desired forever.

Suzi Stevens has tried hard to put her past behind her and move forward. The one man she yearns for over all others, believes her to be nothing but cold-hearted. Hearing that someone has tried to behead him, she shelves past prejudices and rushes to his side, needing to see for herself that he’s all right. What she doesn’t count on is Hawk’s demand to take her as his personal blood donor. Now forced to endure his company, she fears losing her heart for all eternity to the one person who has the power to crush her.

Hawk is book two in the Sons of Sangue series by Patricia A. Rasey.

What’s better than an MC romance? Well, one thats full of vampires.

So I wasn’t sure if I’d like this second book in the series. I had a lot of issues with book one, Viper, but it turns out I thoroughly enjoyed this installment. I couldn’t put Hawk down and read it in one day. It was entertaining and the vampire MC aspect worked, now that I understand the dynamics.

With Kaleb and Suzi their romance took center stage to the suspense. These two have a decades old history between them and so you can bet the sexual tension is going to be sizzling. Theirs a lot of sex, talk of sex, & the sex scenes are scorching hot.

Suzi was a nice character. She wasn’t annoying or whiny. She had spunk and went after what she wanted. Despite Kaleb breaking her heart years ago. Kaleb was stubborn and pure alpha male. The bad-ass MC president worked well for his character.

Hawk was an enjoyable read. I liked the push and pull between our leads and couldn’t wait for them to overcome the obstacles and find their HEA.

Rated: 3.5 Stars

  2. I have never read an MC vampire story, but that is a clever and somehow realistic twist

    • Glad you enjoyed this review. I didn’t fall in love with this series. I gave it a good three book try, but I won’t be reading on unless I can get the books for free. Thank’s for visiting and sharing!

  6. This series sounds really good. I think I’d enjoy it. Going to add it to the TBR. As if I need more on it! I like MC books and I of course love vampires so I think this would be a good mix. I’m glad you gave the second book a chance after being on the fence with the first book.

    • I gave this series a good three book try, but it just didn’t work for me. I won’t be reading on unless I can get the books for free. It’s been up and down with one being Eh and two being better, but three was Eh too. I agree the pull for me to try was the MC and vampire angle. I really wanted to like the series. Thank’s for visiting and I hope you enjoy!
