I took a week off from the blog at the beginning of the year. It was nice to take it easy. The blog celebrated 5 years on Jan 3rd. These last two weeks of January have been hard. Everyone in the house has gotten sick or is still sick. I feel lousy and under the weather. I h8 being sick. It’s so hard when your mom and you get sick. You still have to take care of everyone else.

My reading as you can see from above has been slow. When I get sick all I want to do is veg out on TV. I’ve been watching Covert Affairs and catching up on Bones via Amazon Prime.

My son has taken an interesting in the #KidsBackingShow and has asked me to get stuff for making cakes and decorating. We made two different cakes this month. His first attempt is on the left and his second on the right.

The other thing that happened this month is my family’s piano, one that’s been in the family for generations, has finally become mine and arrived from Indiana. It’s been spending the last 36 years at my dad’s home collecting dust; until now. I’m glad to give it new life and have it with my family. Now, maybe I can get my son interested in piano lessons.

Thank’s for visiting. Have a great February

    • ^_^ I enjoy the show too. It’s so fun watching my son get into it and want to bake. I hope I feel better soon too. We all have been battling this sickness and it’s no fun.

  6. Sorry everyone has been sick! We’ve had a bit of a sinus thing running around here. I haven’t completely taken the month of January off from blogging, but pretty darn close. I’m hoping to catch up in February. I feel like my creativity has taken a nose dive and I’m struggling to get it back.

Hope you have a great February and everyone gets well!

    • I was feeling burned out too and deiced some time off was good. I’m trying to keep things slow and focus on reading and bing watching TV for now. The sickness doesn’t help either. It’s a sinus head cold stuff that’s been going around in our house and my head was killing me for days, so I had no interest in reading and listening was hard too at times. It seems to be getting better now that I have medication from doctor, but it’s still hanging around. Thank’s for stopping in.

Hope you have a great February.

  7. Congrats on the gift card wins! That’s always fun… free books! 🙂 The week off sounds nice – good way to step back and recharge a bit. Blogging is *so* time consuming. Hopefully everyone is on the mend. It seems like *everyone* has been sick lately. Blah. Your son’s cakes are wonderful! Hope he’s super proud of himself. 🙂

    • I agree, blogging is time consuming and it was nice to just take it easy the first of the year. Gave me a chance to recharge a little. The sickness hasn’t helped much hear at the end of the month, but it’s on the mend slowly but surely. Thank’s for stopping in.

Have a great February and happy reading!
