Randomness – TV Shows Part 3

Posted on by

Fall brought a bunch of new TV shows; FBI, Manifest, The Masked Singer, and The Worlds Best plus the next season for others.  Besides TV shows on regular channels I’ve picked up watching some Amazon Prime TV Shows; The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Bones, & Covert Affairs.

Midnight Texas Season 2

What can I say. I love this TV show. Their was some amazing surprises that happened. I can’t wait for the next season.

The Masked Singer

Ok, their is just something about this show that has me coming back each week to watch it. I’m shocked by some of the revels and the judges are so funny.

The World’s Best

Their are some amazing acts on this show. I’m in aww at what humans can do.

FBI

I wasn’t sure if I’d like this new TV series, but WOW it caught me and I’m hooked. It’s suspenseful and thrilling.

Manifest

This one I was a little leery of at first, but the mystery on what happened to these people on the flight and what is happen now caught me.

Amazon Prime

The Marvelous Ms. Maisel

Currently their are two seasons out on this one.

“It’s the late 1950s and Miriam “Midge” Maisel has everything she has ever wanted — the perfect husband, two kids and an elegant apartment on New York’s Upper West Side. Her seemingly idyllic life takes a surprising turn when she discovers a hidden talent she didn’t previously know she had — stand-up comedy.”

It’s funny and interesting, but I’m kinda wishy washy on this one. My main issue is that Midge doesn’t think about anyone, but herself. She has kids and she doesn’t spend time with them. She’s always running around doing this and that.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan

Currently their is one season out.

This thriller “centers on Ryan as an up-and-coming CIA analyst. He is thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time and uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication.”

I really liked this show and just like the movie it’s full of political intrigue, action, and more. Only down side is their is one season and I want more.

Covert Affairs

Covert Affairs is mildly entertaining. If you want realism then this isn’t it. The spy stuff is cool, but you can tell that it’s not real. When our spy Piper Perabo follows people, you can tell she’s not good at it even though they she and show make it seam like she is. Theirs other things too that you can tell aren’t real and not done well. Also she wears 4 inch heels when trying to outrun a terrorist and skin tight dresses. As for the actors. They aren’t terrible, but not stellar either. The only thing that has kept me watch up to and through Season 4 was the villain Henry Wilcox. That plot line was great and entering and added an element to the seasons besides the other spy stuff they did in the day to day episodes. Now I’m onto Season 5 and have lost interest and probably won’t be watching on.

Bones

I loved Bones when it first aired on regular TV. I watched up to Season 8, but then life took over. Bones is now on Amazon Prime offering up Seasons 1 – 12 and I’m getting caught up on all the seasons.

  1. I’ve not watched any of those, but I might have to give some of them a try. FBI sounds interesting and I’ve thought about trying Bones and since I can binge watch, I might just have to do that. Hubs and I have started watching Lucifer and we’re loving it. I’m in season two.

  2. It shows how much tv I watch, I haven’t watched one of these shows. I am curious about Manifest and I keep thinking I will sit down and watch it on Hulu and then I never get around to it. I also want to try the Masked Singer, but never find the time to watch. I spend too much time listening to audiobooks and cross stitching instead of tv, I guess that isn’t such a bad thing. Did you read the MIdnight series? I read it when it released. It was good but it was open ended.

    • I haven’t gotten around to the Midnight series. It’s on my TBR to try. I use to not watch a lot of TV, but this winter I’ve been in a reading slump and more into vegging out on TV. Thank’s for visiting.

  3. We LOVE Manifest – I can’t believe the season is over tonight! I also just discovered The Umbrella Academy on Netflix – binge worthy. And we LOVE LOVE LOVE A Series of Unfortunate Events!

    • Their are shows on Netflix I’d like to see, but we don’t have Netflix. Thank’s for sharing what you are enjoying.

  4. My husband and I watched Jack Ryan together and really loved it (holding the last episode for now). It’s been approved for Seasons 2 & 3!

I’m a big fan of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and binge watched the first season a year ago. I’m just starting Season 2. As she represents an affluent married woman of that era, her relationship with her children fits the character and that time so it doesn’t bug me.

I watched the first three seasons of Covert Affairs when it originally aired and loved the first two. Then it got weird and I trailed off.

I’m a huge fan of the Harry Bosch book series and now LOVE the TV series Bosch on Amazon Prime. My husband and I have binge watched all four seasons.

    • OMG I didn’t know they are coming out with more Jack Ryan… That’s great. I loved it and once I watched the last episode I wanted more. Thank’s for telling me more is coming.

The Marvelous Ms. Maisel – I know her relationship fits for the era… but for some reason it’s hard for me to rap my head around it. I do and am enjoying the seasons. I’ll keep watching for now.

Ya Cover Affairs I’m surprised I made it to the end and start of season 5, but I can’t watch anymore and am done. Things did get weird. I agree on that.

I’ll have to check out Bosch… Thank’s for sharing your TV bing watching. ^_^

  5. Midnight, TX is one of the shows I have to watch for on Netflix. I missed watching when it was airing. For some reason my DVR was showing Episode 6 and then none after. Were there only 6 episodes or did I not set my DVR correctly?

    • No, their wear 9 episodes for season 2 and the seasons had some boom shell moments that shocked epically the ending of the last episode.
