26th – May 2nd – At the end of a hard day, how do you get yourself psyched about writing a book review? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

When I frist started blogging back in 2014 I was much more diligent and excited to write book reviews. I’d have my review written within a day or two after reading. Now we are in 2019 and it might be a month later; before I review a book that I read. Good thing I keep notes!!

How do I get psyched. I don’t! I write when I feel like it. Manly Tuesdays are my day to knockout at least three reviews on books I’ve read. As for ARC’s well I’ve made a point of only reviewing for a select few authors now, so I don’t have the added pressure to read and review. I’ve also stoped requesting on NetGalley and will instead use my library and wait for the book to come out. I’ve made a point of just reading what I want when I want and reviewing when I feel like it. It’s been relaxing and enjoyable to get back to just enjoying a book and not worrying about reviewing it in a timely fashion.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and for more information check out her blog. Each week a new Top Ten list will be featured. Everyone is welcome to join! A list of 10 is just a suggestion, but you can do a list of 3 or 5 or 20.

April 30: Inspirational/Thought-Provoking Book Quotes

I’ve got two Pinterst boards that I keep quotes on. One is Bookish Quotes and another is just Quotes. Here are few that I like:

April 30: Waiting on Wednesday: Do you participate? Do you read the books you highlight?

I have participated in the past on a few WOW, but I don’t actively participate. As for the books I’ve highlighted in the WOW posts well I have them on my TBR, but haven’t gotten to them; because they are series books and I’m not to them yet.

I’d love to hear from you.
Answer this weeks fun memos or just say HI!

  1. Reviews are something I make myself do. If I don’t do them within a few weeks I have a harder time reviewing them once too much time has gone by. I’m with you though, I only take ARCs that I really want to read!

    • I use to be really good on reviewing, but now it could be a month later. I’m not stressing about it nor am I stressing about getting them done sooner. It’s refreshing. Thank’s for visiting and commenting.

  2. Yes, rereading books definitely is awesome.

    • Thank you for visiting and sharing your TTT. Have a good week!

  3. Reading books you want to read, and reviewing them when you feel like it is the best, Angela! I actually do that even with many of my ARCs, unless the author is self published. Then, I really do my best to review rather quickly – at least on Goodreads, BookBub and Amazon 🙂
I’m more into reading than reviewing these days, and I don’t want to feel like the blog is something I have to do – so I’m fine with that 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • I agree with you and feel the same way.
      Have a great week!

  4. I don’t mind writing reviews, but sometimes I wish it could be a simple review like: I loved this book it was awesome or something simple like that. I’m not clever so I just write like I feel,it doesn’t mean the book wasn’t mind blowing its just sometimes it’s hard to put into words! The reviews that take me the longest are the books I didn’t like. But I try to find something positive to say. I’ve dnf books, but I keep it to myself because what I didn’t like someone else loved. Shared on my socials!??

    • Thank’s Kathy for sharing your thoughts on reviewing.

  5. I’ve never really participated in the memes, but I do have fun reading others. I have a hard time writing reviews sometimes too. I have five waiting for me to write. I hope that I can get to at least most of them today. The ARCs I request are from people who will allow me to post in my own time or I won’t take them. I have no problems waiting on the library or using my Audible credits or just buying the book if the author wants to push me on a deadline.
