The New York Times bestselling Elemental Assassin series continues with a new e-novella—from the hero’s point of view! Owen Grayson is bound and determined to get Gin back...if her enemies don’t get her first.

When you have a history of dating an assassin, a night out on the town can turn deadly—fast. Owen Grayson is still wracked with guilt over the end of his love affair with Gin Blanco, and there aren’t enough gin and tonics in all of Ashland to ease his heartache. But when Gin happens to show up at the same nightclub, he isn’t the only one hoping to get her alone. Some shadowy figures will do anything to take down the Spider, Gin’s assassin alter ego, and Owen will do anything to protect her. This could be the way to win her back, or at least give her a night off from fighting for her life—if Owen can survive...

Kiss of Venom should be read after Deadly Sting and before Heart of Venom.

Here we get Owen’s POV.

Fans of the series might be angry with Owen after the events of Widow’s Web. I know I’m upset with him and how he treated Gin. Not cool.

In Kiss of Venom he does some soul searching. We see what a mess he’s made with Gin. How much guilt, pain, and anger he’s caring around; because of his ex-finance, Salina, and the events that took places in Widow’s Web. Guilt is the main thing he feels. Guilt for not protecting his loved ones. Guilt for blindly trusting Salina. Guilt for treating Gin the same way Donovan did. And, he wouldn’t feel all this if he still didn’t love Gin, but he also doesn’t know how to move on and fix things.

We also get to see Owen reconnect with Phillip. They go out on the town to celebrate Phillips recover from the events in Deadly Sting. They also team up to give Gin one night of peace; because as we know, the bad guys are still out to kill Gin.

Kiss of Venom was an enjoyable read. It’s a short and fast read. Their’s action, humor, and we get to see Gin through Owen’s eyes. Fans will enjoy this novella and insight into Owen.

  2. uh oh. You’re catching up to where I am in the series. I haven’t read this novella, along with some others. I don’t like Owen. I have read book 9. If I’m going to read along with you I better get this one read. Wonderful review!

    • I’ve always liked Owen. He has always felt like a better fit to Gin. I was very upset at him. Still am, but it’s getting better. I’m trying to fit the novellas in as I read, so I’m reading everything in order. It doesn’t aways happen, but I did get this one read in the order it should be read. I just finished book 12. Thank’s for visiting!

  3. I did like some of these novellas from the other character’s POVs.

    • If you are enjoying the series, which I am, I think having other character POV’s just add to that. Thanks for visiting!

  4. I have the first book on audio. I will be finishing up the Dresden Files this month, then I have to decide which series on my backlist to start.

  7. I loved getting Owen’s POV after how angry he made me. I felt a little better after reading this. It never should have happened, but if he can make it up to her I’m more than willing to see him try. I really enjoy Phillip. I think he’s funny. Great review!
