A desperate girl on the run with nowhere to hide... A warrior who has made a vow never to claim a bride... Sophia Waterhouse is being Hunted and the only man who can save her is the one she fears the most...

Sophia Waterhouse has always been afraid of needles and vampires so there’s no way she wants anything to do with a modern day Count Dracula—even if he does come wrapped in the package of a huge Kindred warrior with blond hair and ice blue eyes. She’s only on the Kindred Mothership to participate in her sister Liv’s wedding and that’s all.

Sylvan is a Tranq Kindred who has made a sacred vow never to call a bride. After a devastating rejection on his home planet, his heart is a block of ice no one can melt—or so he thinks until he meets Sophia.

When their ship is forced down in the middle of a rugged mountain range Sophia and Sylvan are stranded. Running for their lives they have only each other to depend on. Will they give in to the intense attraction between them or will the evil hunting Sophia take its toll? You’ll have to read Brides of the Kindred Book 2—Hunted to find out.

Hunted is book two in the Brides of the Kindred series by Evangeline Anderson.

I like to give a series a two or three book try before I say I’m going to stop. Hunted was not my cup of tea. I was hoping for something different and sadly I was disappointed. You may wonder why did I read the whole book well the only reason I read Hunted to the end was to get the set-up story for our next couple which are featured in, book three, Sought.

Sophia was a very disappointing heroine. She was feisty and opinionated in book one, Claimed, but here in her book she becomes a simpering damsel that was determined not to see the truth in front of her. She’s incredibly damaged and is afraid of needles (due to all the transfusions she had as a child), so to pair her up with a Blood Kindred aka Vampire. Ya, that’s not going to go over well! She was such a depressing character that it kept me down and depressed throughout this novel.

Sylvan is a Kindred Warrior who’s made a sacred vow never to call a bride; because of a devastating rejection on his home planet. Then he meets Sophia and now he’s torn. I liked Sylvan. He was interesting and I liked getting to learn about the Blood Kindred race.

As for the romance. It took this couple FOREVER to get together and it took a total stranger to got Sophia to understand that having a Blood Kindred bit her is not going to hurt even thou Sylvan has told her this too and she’s seen first hand her own sisters experience. Let me also point out that Sophias had a traumatic sexual experience; besides being afraid of needles, so really can the author make her anymore opposite of wanting her Kindred? Sophia was just so annoying! I get their where traumatic things in her past preventing them from moving on and committing, but man did the author drag this on longer then necessary. And, last when she’s about to die, she realizes she CAN’T LIVE without Sylvan and magically everything is perfect. Eh!!

The only reason I read this novel to the end was the secondary story weaved into Hunted. I like how the author weaves these into her story. She did with Claimed and again here. We get the setup for our next couple which is going to be a menage with Kat, Locks Hard and Stabs Deep. I love the Twin Kindred and their different personalities are interesting. The chemistry between these three is already fantastic. I can’t wait to see how it grows and what surprises are in store for them.

Hunted was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

    • I like Vamps too. I wish I could have liked this one. I have’t gotten into this series, but I might try some others. Not given up, but not in any hurry either. Thank’s for stopping by.
