2020 Mid-Year Challenge Updates

Posted on by

OMG it’s June and we are halfway through the year.  It’s been a slow year for reading/listening for me.  Once the COVID-19 hit and we where put into the stay-at-home order I went into a slump.  Some people didn’t and read more, but me I just couldn’t stick with anything.

  1. Hey, well done with your progress with the audiobook challenge. I’m doing this one too.

    • I hope you are enjoying the audiobook challenge. I discovered my love for audiobooks in 2018, can’t believe it took me so long, but it’s a great way to read books. Good luck in your challenge.

  2. Looks like you are doing pretty good with the challenges overall.

    • Overall yes. The only one I’ve had trouble with is Start On Your Bookshelf.

  3. Oh this slump is horrible! I’m so far behind on my challenges. I’ve got one more week of work from home because of some health issues, but hopefully then I will get back to my audiobook listening. I can’t seem to work and listen at the same time. I think there are two reasons my ebook reading has declined. One, the book I am reading is a bit of a disappointment, but I am in too far to DNF and my video game. It’s going to be a very depressing mid-year update!

    • Sometimes I can multi task and listen while I work on the blog or go through emails other days I just don’t feel it. It’s gotten harder and harder to feel like doing anything. I’m so all over the place. I can’t stick with things. The slump is depressing, but I keep trying each day. I did better then I expected when I worked on this post. The only challenge I’m falling at is my own personal physical book shelf. Have a great week!

  4. I’m in the same boat with the slumping. Hey, not bad on most of those challenges! I’m doing the first three with you. 🙂 I like the idea of the shelf reading challenge and the discussion ones since those are areas I need to do better.

Cheering you on for the last half, Angela!

    • The slumping is hard and sad. Most of my challenges have been great. The only one I’m struggling with is the physical books on my self that I haven’t read. The self reading is one I wanted to really focus on, but no mater how many times I try a challenge that focus on my physical books I just can’t get into the channels, but I keep trying. I wish you luck in your challenges and happy reading!

  5. You’re doing better than me! I gave up on my challenges for the first time ever. My reading slump wouldn’t go away. Plus I had to work so many more hours now. Mid year! Can’t believe it’s here already!

    • Aww I’m sorry to hear you gave up on your challenges. I understand though with everything happening this year life has become more challenge and lots of changes. My slump is off and on, but I’m sad when it happens. This year is the first time since I started reading fully again that I’ve been in reading slumps. I can’t believe it’s Mid-Year either. It just jumped up. Take care!
