1/26/21: Do you reread? And are you ever tempted to change your ratings when you do?

I do reread. I do it a lot, but only on a few series. The series’s that I reread are Pride by Shelly Laurenston, Dragon Kin by G.A. Aiken, Psy-Changling by Nalini Singh, & almost everything by Ilona Andrews (Hidden Legacy, Innkeeper Chronicles, Kate Daniels, The Edge).

Have I ever been tempted to change my rating. Not really. What I feel the first go around is what I feel and it doesn’t change. I may think the audio is more appealing then reading it or vise versa, but I’ve never had the urge to change my rating.

2/2/21 (Black History Month): Share some of your favorite books written by POC authors.

  1. Yes. Only certain series – exactly. All things Ilona Andrews. Also Mercy Thompson/Alpha Omega. Hmm.. I have re-read Psy-Changeling, but it’s not been since well before the original series ended. I think that’s about it these days.

    • I haven’t revised the spin-off of her Pay-Changling, but I have gone back and listened to the Psy-Changling. I do like Mercy and I should revise Alpha Omega. Both are great. It’s only certain series that I revisit. I have those that are light and fun and lift me up and others that just suck me into the suspense. Thanks Jen for sharing and visiting!

  2. Well I don’t do a lot of rereading. BUT the big exception is the Read-along every other year is a reread of a favorite series. While Psy-Changeling is a reread for you and Sophia, it’s a new one for me. But last year’s Mercy Thompson and next year’s Night Huntress are rereads, as was 2018 Kate Daniels. I am rereading the Patricia Brigg’s Alpha & Omega right now to prep for Wild Sign and many of them I read and this time I’m listening.

    • See you do do a little rereading even if it is for the read-alongs. I enjoy the read-alongs you do! Thank you. I should do a reread of Alpha & Omega. I’m working on buying the audios when I’ve gc or credits. I have borrowed them from my library for reading and listening. Thank’s for sharing how you reread and visiting!

  3. With audio, I’ve revisited several books now and love what that adds to the story. Usually, my feelings for the print content don’t change, but I might rate higher when I really love the narrator. I’m re-reading on audio the Psy-Changelings now for Anne’s readalong. 🙂

    • I’m like you Sophia. I’ve been revisiting with the audios and I agree they have added to the story and my enjoyment. I also agree that I don’t change my eBook/Print rating, but I’ve found that the audio might be a little higher. It was that way with book 1 in the Kate Daniels series. It was first book syndrome and then when I went back with the audio I got more enjoyment and felt the audio was much better. I need to get back to the Pay-Changeling. I’ve listen to a few in that series through my library, but not all. Thank’s for sharing and visiting!

  4. I re-read sometimes but it’s usually older books that I haven’t read in years and want to revisit them.

    • That’s great. I’ve been go back to some of the older series I read a long time ago and check out the audios for them. One series is the Shifters Unbound series by Jennifer Ashley. Thank’s for visiting and sharing.

  5. Nope. I don’t reread. I feel like there is so many new ones I need to catch up on and I don’t usually reread. I think I might if a book just had too much back story and I didn’t remember but I don’t think I’ve done it in a long time.

    • Some ppl feel their is to much to read and so they don’t reread. This last year (2020) when COVID hit I just couldn’t get into anything new, so I did a lot of revisiting with my favorite series. I’ve been going back to past books and listening to the audios. It’s a nice change and fun for me to revisit. Thank’s for visiting and sharing your thoughts on rereading. Happy Reading!
