Saint is a bear shifter on the war path. He just wants to sleep the winter away, but his rowdy neighbours in the remote Rocky Mountains valley have other plans. When the cougar shifter brothers refuse to keep the noise down, he reacts on instinct, kidnapping a beautiful female who smells like sweet berries and tempts him like no other—a female who happens to be mated to one of the brothers.

Holly’s first taste of freedom isn’t going as planned. Escaping her family to join in the winter wedding celebrations at Cougar Creek with her friend Ember sounded fantastic, until a grouchy bear shifter grabs her—a gorgeous male who rouses instincts in her that are startling and powerful, igniting a fierce need to growl and stake a claim on him. A gorgeous bear who might be her fated mate.

Can Holly resist the hungers Saint awakens in her? And when Saint realises his mistake about her identity, can he convince the stunning Holly to give him a second chance?

Stolen by Her Bear is book one in the Black Ridge Bears series by Felicity Heaton.

It’s set in the same area as her Cougar Creek Mates and the same world as the Eternal Mates. This new series does stand on its own, but I feel that to get the maximum enjoyment you should at least read some of the Cougar Creek Mates; since we do have appearances from characters from that series.

This is an insta-mates trope. If you have read the Eternal Mates then you have an idea that the supernaturals have one fated mate and most know once they meet, while others take a little time and if your fated mate is human, we’ll let the convincing commence.

We are treated to the ever grumpy bears of Black Ridge. It’s got bad tempers, mistaken identity, thrilling fights, a little heartbreaking pain, some sexy times and the HEA.

I enjoyed Stolen by Her Bear and liked diving into the bears. Saint was adorable and a bit misunderstood since his bear side takes over and he does things he later knows he shouldn’t. Then we have Holly a sweet Cougar female who finally finds her voice and passion. It’s a quick read that packs a punch. The characters and plot are pleasurable. I’m looking forward to returning to Black Ridge.
