True Love Cowboy
(McGrath #3)

Please share the opening lines of this book:

“Trinity knocked on Mr. Crawford’s door for the fourth time and still got no answer. She didn’t usually walk into other people’s homes, but this seemed like an emergency. What if he was too sick to make it to the door? What if he’d fallen and hit his head? She imagined any number of things keeping him from answering her knock…”

Please share a few Fun facts about this book.

Trinity has 3 older overprotective brothers – Drake, Declan, and Tate. She’s the baby of the family. Trinity was kidnapped in Tate’s book – WAITING ON A COWOY – and is suffering from PTSD after the trauma. She owns her own business with her brother Drake’s wife Adria. Drake married Trinity’s BFF.

Jon is a single dad to an adorable little girl, who has a wicked mom and is looking for a fairy god-step-mother. Jon is a businessman coming home to the family ranch to provide a safe and simpler life for his daughter.

Jon and Trinity aren’t looking for love, but can’t deny their instant attraction.

Without revealing too much, what is your favorite scene in the book?

Chapter 7 – Jon arrives at Trinity’s apartment. She thinks he’s there to pick her up for their first date. But Jon arrives with his daughter in tow to tell her in person he has to cancel. She invites him in and offers to make them all dinner. After a really lovely time, she walked him and Emmy down to his car. Jon settles Emmy in the car. And Trinity and Jon share their first kiss!

How did you ‘get to know’ your main characters? Did they ever surprise you?

Trinity arrived in Drake’s book – TOUGH TALKING COWBOY. I loved the idea that these three brothers had a strong sister, who could hold her own against all of them while still be the caretaker of all of them. Though I shouldn’t have been surprised by Trinity’s boldness, it was that she found the strength to overcome her fears and be bold with Jon and let her heart lead her, instead of letting her fears hold her back.

Jon’s story is based on a couple I know and the divorce and child custody case they went through with their daughter. It was a sad tale, and I hated to see how their daughter suffered because of her mother’s addiction and mental health issues, complicated by an enabling family. Her dad worked so hard to keep her safe when the system didn’t always work in his favor and put his daughter at risk.

I knew Jon and Trinity would get together, but it did surprise me that the second he meets Trinity he knows there’s something there. And even though he has every reason to be gun shy because of his ex, he can’t help but want Trinity and see that she could be so good, not only for him, but for his little girl.

Using just 5 words, how would you describe Hero and Heroin’s love affair?

Heartwarming. Sexy. Meant to be.

“Tonight I want to be alone with you.”

“Nice.”

“You might not think that of me if you knew what I was thinking about doing to you right now.”

She gave him a sexy, seductive smile. “Should I pick a safe word?”

He pressed his hand to her beautiful face and brushed his thumb across her soft cheek. “I take instruction very well. Yes. More. Don’t stop.” He shrugged one shoulder. “I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you don’t ever want to say no.”

She leaned in and kissed him once. “Then, yes.” She kissed him again. “More.” She kissed him again, this time with her tongue sliding across his bottom lip. “Go. And don’t stop.”

Maybe he really had finally met his match.

The thought drove him wild and he dove in for a searing kiss that drove them both mad with wanting.

Her fingers worked the buttons at the front of his shirt.
