May 24: Do you review every book you read? Why or why not?

I used to review every book I read.  When I first started book blogging in 2014 I’d read a book and within a day or two write the review.  The words just flowed and I knew what I wanted to say and could nock out those reviews, but as the years went by I burnt myself out and got into a slump.  I know longer write a full review for every book I read.  I just jot down my initial thoughts on Goodreads and I may or may not come back to write a more formal review.

I’d love to hear from you!
Do you review every book or not?

I'm an outdoor sun loving reader living near San Fransisco. I’m a mother, wife, animal & book lover. I'm the owner, reviewer & mind behind Angel’s Guilty Pleasures. My favorite animals are horses & dogs. As for reading I love all things paranormal & urban fantasy & my favorite shifters are dragons.

  1. When reading is no longer a joy, I can see making changes. I like to do a few thoughts on each book just so I’ll remember later, but those aren’t the same as when I do blog reviews.

    • Ya, there was a time I was in a slump and even my old favorites weren’t brining me out. It was hard and said. I’m like you in a way. I do a few thoughts so I remember, but its not the same as a full on blog review. Now I may or may go back and write a more fuller review for the books I read, but I don’t push myself anymore. I’m enjoy my time reading again.

  2. I take notes and quick thoughts on my “notes” app on my phone and then try to put together some sort of review for GR. If it’s going on my blog, then I write a full review. But I always am thinking about the review – it’s part of me now!

    • I know longer think about the review. I’m back to just enjoying the book and maybe reviewing if I feel like it unless its an ARC, but I haven’t had one of those in a long time. ^_^ Thanks for visiting and checking out my post today.
