Interview: S E Davis (They Had Eyes of Silver) ~ #BookTour

Posted on by

Hello and Welcome All!

Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing S E Davis author of They Had Eyes of Silver.

Hi S E, thank you for agreeing to this interview.

For those readers not familiar with you, would you please tell us a bit about yourself?

First, thank you for visiting with me! I am a veterinarian in central North Dakota. My favorite color is pink, my favorite flowers are wild, and I have a salamander phobia. My sarcasm is limitless, and I love a good dad joke, the drier and more eye-rolling the better. Because I believe more books should feature veterinarians and Weimaraners, I have taken it upon myself to write fantasies inclusive of these two incredible creatures.

How did you choose the genre you write in?

I guess you could say the story chose me, this romance between a veterinarian and a wolf-shifter. I enjoy reading paranormal romances and it’s a hot genre, so I thought I would give it my best attempt. It is a far cry from my debut novel, Inside Voices, a mystery for all ages with paranormal elements. THEOS is published under S E Davis to separate the different genres.

What do you do when you are not writing?

Writing is something I squeeze in between a full-time job and my family. And there are books to read, movies to watch, and crafts to craft. I recently binged the fourth season of Stranger Things. I am not a patient person, so not throwing out the entire season at one time has me wrecked.

What are some books you have enjoyed recently?

Let’s see, I’ve enjoyed Death’s Destiny, Honey Andrew’s debut novel, Animus by P J Mordant, and I just finished Shadow Lands by Stacey Marie Brown. All five-star reads for me. I’m finishing up with the audio of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab, another excellent book. Next on my reading list are James Rollins’s books, Kingdom of Bones and The Starless Crown.

Tell us a few Fun Facts about your upcoming book?

Ooh, fun facts. Okay. My wolf shifters call themselves wulfin. For them, silver is not toxic, but chrome can cause considerable damage. They enjoy long runs through the woods and sweaty wrestling matches in the dirt. The pups chase their tails and the older ones pee on each other’s unattended items.

Give us an insight into your main character(s).

Reina (33YO) is one of those types of gals that has a fulfilling life, but still feels this restlessness within that no amount of work or exercise or achievement can settle. She throws herself into her role as a veterinarian and is fiercely loyal.

Blaise (33YO) is a single dad who helps run his grandfather’s estate where his large, extended wulfin pack lives. He trains the youth in their family and keeps everyone in line.

What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?

My favorite part to write? THE END. I loved writing every part of this book, hated cutting parts out, and probably should have cut more out (lol). Writing The End didn’t signal the actual end any of the times I added it. It signalled the closing of one door and the opening of another. The end of one adventure and the beginning of a new challenge.

Readers should read this book…

Anyone who reads paranormal mystery should give it a shot (please) because it has a fun, unique spin (I hope) on wolf shifters. THEOS is the first in a series of four that will reveal Norse mythology ties and bring in new characters with each book.

Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview.

They Had Eyes of Silver

(The Wulfin Series Book 1)

A secret lineage. A family cursed. A forbidden love that can’t be denied.

Veterinarian Reina Kirke is exhausted. So, when her best friend suggests a European vacation, she doesn’t hesitate. A much-needed break and a chance to investigate her mysterious family tree sound perfect. Too bad she’s in no way prepared for what she finds. The fairytale town in Belgium hides family secrets grounded in the supernatural. Legends of werewolves and witches surround her, and a taboo love affair threatens to pull her into a danger she might not be able to handle.

What seems like a chance encounter with Blaise Woodward, a brooding hunk with his own secrets, sets up a sequence of events that could unravel both of their families as they realize their deep connection to each other is generations old. But only one thing is certain.

Their lives will never be the same…
