He’s the bad boy she’s always wanted…
Nate “Ghost” Weller has loved Ali Morgan nearly half his life. But he’s done something so heinous he’s convinced she’ll never forgive him if she discovers the truth, so he keeps his feelings and his secrets to himself. Then she blows into town with a mother lode of bad guys on her tail and Nate can’t deny she’s in serious trouble. Unfortunately, he’s the only one who can help her.
She’s the good girl he’s kept at arm’s length…
Ali knows Nate as the most solemn, aloof man on the planet. Sadly, he’s also the sexiest. For years she’s avoided him, unable to stomach his dark scowls and brooding silences… especially when she secretly yearns for his touch. Now she must rely on him to save her from the malevolent shadows ghosting her every move. When the bullets explode, so does their passion. But can love really conquer all? Or are some things just too terrible to forgive?
~ 5 Hell On Wheels Stars ~
I am not a big contemporary reader and when I do pick up a contemporary read it’s usually a so so book. I have only found one other author that has blown me away and pulled me completely into the story. Julia Walker is now the second contemporary author that I will be keeping an eye on and reading.
Hell On Wheels is book one in the Black Knights Inc. series by Julia Ann Walker. I piked this series up, because everyone was giving the latest release good reviews, so I decide to check it out and I am so glad I did. We have special blacks ops type guys, bickers, suspense, and romance.
JWalker does a fantastic job pulling you into the story. I was swept away. WOW! I love that the couple Ali and Nate have a past history together. It really makes the romance/relationship that is growing that much more believable. Yes they have obstacles to over come, but that just helps bring them together and boy when they come together they light the sheets on fire. The sexual tension is off the charts and the sex was hot. The writing is excellent, flowing smoothly, and keeping the story plot going at a nice pace. All the characters are interesting and unique. I can’t wait to learn more about the guys of the Black Knights Inc. as they each get their own story. JWalker also sets up for the next couple in the series. I like how everything is put together. Friendships, relationships and more.
If you are looking for a tale that will have you laughing one moment and wiping tears the next then this book is a must. Its fast paced keeping you hooked from the first to last page.

I think everyone I know just adores these. I love the covers and think Julie Ann is just the awesomest of ladies but they just weren’t the series for me :/ So glad it rocked for ya though!

Anna, I swung by and read your review. Ya we usually have the same tastes, but this one we differed in. It happens! I’m glad I’m enjoying the books so far.

Oh yeah. I’m totally the odd girl out on this series which just kills me. I think every one of my friends who has read it gave raves about it. I don’t know why it just hit me off. Such a shame when that happens.

Ya I can understand that. I’ve had a few books that ppl just rave about, but they don’t work for me.
