The struggle of getting started
A book/book series that you have struggled to begin because of its size

I have a few that I want to try, but because they have so many in the series I’m a bit hesitant. (Immortals After Dark; Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter; Dark-Hunter)

Cleaning out the closet
A book/book series that you want to un-haul

I try to only buy psychical books I’m going to re-read. Most of the books I currently own are in the re-read categories. Now If I could un-haul the ebooks I bought, well then their are a few of those I’d like to get ride of. On my nook: The King by J.R. Ward (I still haven’t read this one. I read some spoilers and so deiced not to read), Viper by Patricia A. Rasey, Burn With Me by R. G. Alexander, Touch The Dark by Karen Chance, & Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur.

Opening windows and letting the fresh air in
A book that was refreshing

How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days by Kerrelyn Sparks. I was surprised with this new series and I’ve been reading each new installment as they come out. This novel gives us a mixture of humor, seriousness, understanding, and love. My Review Another book well series that’s been refreshing is the Legion of Angels series by Ella Summers. I just discovered the books here in March and devoured them one after another. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a book capture me so deeply that I wanted to read one book after the other in the series, until I was all caught up.

Washing out sheet stains
A book you wish you could rewrite a certain scene in

I can’t think of any.

Throwing out unnecessary knick-knacks
A book in a series that you didn’t feel was necessary

For series books they all are necessary, but some can feel like just a filler or not live up to your exceptions on what you have liked in the series. A few that I felt where more filler types are:

Polishing the doorknobs
A book that had a clean finish

I loved the Guardians of the Realms series by Setta Jay. The series is by no means clean. It’s a sexy steamy erotic paranormal romance. It’s dirty, sexy, sensual, but oh so unique with a great cast of characters to fall for, a unique world, and action-packed. My Review(s) & More

Reaching to dust the fan
A book that tried to hard to relay a certain message

I have to say Kiss of Pride in the Deadly Angels series. It had a lot of God, sin, redemption, and so on. It was a hot mess for me.

The tiring yet satisfying finish of Spring cleaning
A book series that was tiring yet satisfying to get through?

Chicagoland Vampire series by Chloe Neill. My Review(s). My satisfaction comes from finally finishing the series.

I’d love to hear what your answers are to the questions above!

  1. Sorry you didn’t get as much satisfaction as you would have liked out of a long series. That’s frustrating!

    • I haven’t started the long series listed except for the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter. I read the first 2 or 3 books but just stopped. The others I want to try, but my GOD the length of the series is a bit scary. ^_^

  2. I love Immortals After Dark, but the last book wasn’t up to the rest of the books, IMO. I was a huge fan of Anita Blake. I stuck with it for a long time, but I haven’t read the last two books and the last book I did read, I DNF. I really enjoyed Cassandra Palmer, but the last few books haven’t seemed to move the story forward. I keep hoping to hear the next book will wrap up the series.

    • It’s kinda sad and hard to stay up to date with some of these series. Their are just so many books and then when you run into one or more that don’t work or you DNF, well it makes it harder. I read the first 3 in Anita Blake a very long time ago way before blogging.. I can’t remember why I didn’t continue. Cassandra Palmer I read that first book Touch the Dark, but I didn’t care for the story and so I never read anymore. I can’t remember why I didn’t like it, but I did. Thank’s for visiting and sharing, Melanie.

    • The Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon was a lot of fun. I really am loving Ms. Sparks new fantasy romance series. It’s great.

  5. I’m the same way with my physical shelf. I have limited space, so if it’s not a book I am going to reread then it needs to go. The Chicagoland Vampires is one that I sort of lost touch on. It started off so good and then Ethan died and came back… and I just sort of lost interest. I think I only made it to like the 4th book or something.

    • The Chicagoland Vampires didn’t win me over. I’m glad it’s done. It was enjoyable, but not a reread series for me. Ya, we’ve moved so much and space is limited, so I don’t buy unless I’m going to reread other wise it’s eBook or library borrow.

  6. I am so glad you enjoyed Ella Summers! That series is awesome. I really wish the latest book would come out in audio. I may have to break down and read it. Those are some scary long series but I think every one of those was worth it!

    • Oh yes, Ella Summers. I’m now waiting not so patiently for the next book to come out. I want it now. I want them all. I had fun with the characters and world set up. Everyone says those long series I’ve listed above are worth reading, but oh my god are they long.
