Eve’s mission is to rescue cyborgs from termination centers on Earth. She is blindsided by the overwhelming attraction that draws her to one of them. He’s handsome, sexy, and she wants him, craves his touch as she has no other. She must send him to freedom but she makes him promise to wait for her.
Blackie cannot forget the courageous woman who saved him. He never learned whether she died during the rebellion or just changed her mind about leaving with him but he holds her within his lonely heart. He exists to serve the Cyborg Council and protect the new world cyborgs have created. This changes when he discovers the woman who haunts his dreams is alive and the cyborg leaders left her behind to die. He’ll never lose her again and he’ll fight his own kind to avenge and keep her.
Haunting Blackie is book eight in the Cyborg Seduction series by Laurann Dohner.
This novel introduces us to a new species one that was on Earth with the Cyborg’s and what happens to them when they help the Cyborg’s escape is heartbreaking.
Danika & Eve are canine hybrids. They are the last of their species and hiding the fact that they are canine hybrids. They end up in a predicament and are reduced by Blackie and his fellow Cyborgs.
It’s an insta-love story with very little character development. Blackie and Eve met over 50 years ago during the escape. Each thought the other was dead. Their relationship picks up as if they had been lovers for years instead of being separated. It was quick and all consuming. The sexy times where nice, but the fast romance didn’t feel like a romance. It just was.
Haunting Blackie gives us lots of misunderstandings, exposure of a huge betrayal, and lots of hot scenes; between Eve and Blackie.
Rated: 3 Stars

Interesting premise. I think I’d want a bit more romance development, too. I need to get back into her books.

The stories in the Cyborg Seduction are quick. Not much on the romance development part, but still enjoyable enough to read. I’ve been picking up her backlist books from my library, so the titles I read are the original publications not the new re-releases.
