  4. When I hear books and single dad, I think of the Nancy Drew books. I know I’ve read others (such as Janet S. Anderson’s “The Last Treasure”), but those were the first ones that came to mind.

  5. I take my husband out to dinner.

  6. I usually light a candle for my father who passed away when I was 13 years old.

  7. We celebrate Father’s Day by all getting together or if someone can’t come, there is always the well wishing phone call.

  8. We had a family BBQ for Fathers Day.

  9. Our 2 kids and grandkids came by to visit their dad and enjoy some time together. Always enjoy our time with all of them!

  16. We didn’t do anything this year because my dad died last year around this time.

    • My dad passed away a few years ago, but I miss celebrating with him so much. The kids and I celebrate my hubby with his favorite meals and we try to surprise him with a fun gift. This year we bought him new flip flops and a big ol’ farmers hat!

  20. Today is Father’s Day and it is also the first anniversary of my mother’s passing. My husband and I went to the cemetery where they are at rest. (My father passed a few yrs ago). Prior to my father’s passing we would go to their place and grill out.

  32. We have breakfast all together and then spend the day playing board games and reading together 🙂

  41. My dad likes to read Brad Thor, Lee Childs and Preston and Child’s Pendergast novels. We usually make a special meal for him or take him out. He doesn’t really want anything, but I got him a trio of new to him hot sauces.

    • I do something special for my mom on fathers day because she was always the mom and dad and deserves both mothers and fathers day.

  45. With my own Dad and husband in Heaven, recent Father’s Day celebrations have been all about my sons who are Fathers now themselves. Last year we had a lovely backyard barbecue and most of the family and our friends stopped by, it was an especially joyful celebration as the COVID epidemic had kept us indoors and socially distant for over a year prior to the day
