Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is Books I Love That Were Written Over Ten Years Ago.
You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister was published in 2004. It’s got DRAGON’s. I borrowed this first book from the library and loved it so much that I bought the 4 books in the Aisling Grey, Guardian series. It’s unique, entertaining, magical, and funny.
Loves Bites by Lynsay Sands was published in 2010. It’s got VAMPIRES. The first book is A Quick Bite and a nice start to the series, but book 2 really sealed the deal for me and I feel in love with the Argeneau series. The vampires are unique, not dead, but really humans that live immortal lives because of technology developed in Atlantis. The earlier titles are my favorites and yes the series is still going.
Even Vampires Get the Blues by Katie MacAlister was published in 2006. I borrowed the Dark Ones series from my library. The first book was eh, but after that I became enameled with the Dark Ones and their plight and finding the one to save them. It’s got VAMPIRES and some very fun heroines.
Memory Zero by Keri Arthur was published first published in 2004. It’s an urban fantasy mystery thriller. I borrowed this from my library and wasn’t sure what I’d get, but I was hooked and almost read it in one sitting. It’s got all the things a great UF should have.
Elizabeth’s Wolf by Lora Leigh was first published in 2004. This is an erotic paranormal romance for 18+ adult. I enjoyed the first 2 books, but this one really sealed The Breed series for me. This one had a wounded soldier, a little girl and a single mother. The story just captured me and the sexy times are steamy.
Obsession Untamed by Pamela Palmer was first published in 2009. This is an erotic paranormal romance for 18+ adult. Book one in the Feral Warriors series was a great start, but book two really catapulted me into reading the full series. I found the world unique, entertaining, and full of mystery and suspense. It was something different and unique to me.
Dark Desire by Christine Feehan was first published in 1999. This is an erotic paranormal romance for 18+ adult. The first book in the Dark series I enjoyed, but the second really made me want to read on. It features sexy immortal Carpathian heroes who are a remarkable breed of vampire.
I’m going to also point out a few that are still going and we talk about even now. The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher (Great UF), Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs (Spellbinding UF/PNR), Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward (I liked the early books in this Erotic PNR series), Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs (Charming UF) & Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews (Magnificent UF/PNR).
I’d love to hear from you!

I recognize them all. Now, I’m feeling nostalgic for the good PNR/UF we’ve had over the last decade.

I do love some of those series you’ve mentioned and would probably still LOVE the books that are 10 years old if I re-read them now. However, my tastes have changed a lot in 10 years, so there are some on my TBR that hold no appeal now.

I agree. 10 years is a long time and our taste changes as we get older. I’ve got books on my read list that now I don’t think I’d like them as much as I did. I’ve also got books on my TBR that I look at and wonder why I put them there. ^_^ Thanks for visiting!

I haven’t read any of these books. It’s always cool when that happens with TTT posts!
