Amelia Knight knows when James Foster returns to Night Meadow Island for his brother’s wedding she should guard her heart carefully. Even after he swears he’s back for good. When he looks at her with his mischievous grin and pours on the charm, she can’t help but be tempted to hope it’s true. But they’ve been down this road a few times already, and it always ends with her left picking up the pieces of her shattered heart. This time she’s ready to stand her ground.

James Foster has returned to the island where he grew up to finally claim his witch. For the past decade, he’s focused on his career, thinking he’d be fine without the girl he left behind. But after he achieved his goal of a successful law career in New York City, James learned he hadn’t realized his dream after all. A life with Amelia Knight is what he really wants, but now that he’s back to start their life together, she’s refusing to see the truth. He’s going to have to prove to her what his heart has always known.

Witch Remembered is book two in the Witches of Night Meadow series by V. Vaughn. It’s a sweet friends to more than friends romance.

James left Night Meadow Island to pursue a life as a big shot lawyer and in doing so he left his best friend behind. Amelia loved James for years and dreamed of a life together, but he left.

James comes and goes throughout the years and Amelia is feed up with it. She’s the one left behind. As things go James realizes, eventually, what he’s missing in his life, Amelia. He has to really work to show Amelia that he plans to stay this time and not leave again.

Amelia and James had a misunderstand as kids which lead to all the angst. I felt Amelia needed to own up to her part in all this. She eventually does, but not fast enough for my taste. She blames James. I think I’d have liked the story more if Amelia had acted more like an adult. Other then that it was enjoyable.

It’s a sweet nice light-hearted romance with mild kissing and just a dash of witchy paranormal.

Rated: 3 Stars

  1. Yeah, when it goes too long with someone not seeing their part in the problem it gets frustrating. Sounds like they both had some work to do.

    • Yep, they both had work to do. This isn’t my normal type of read in that it’s a clean romance and light on the paranormal though it had the witchy aspect. Thanks for visiting!

  2. A bit too bad that it wasn’t more
