Graphic Audio Review: Innkeeper Chronicles (Books #1 – #4.5) by Ilona Andrews

Earth is the Atlanta Airport of the Galaxy. Situated on the crossroads of wormholes and dimensional gateways, it caters to the variety of visitors from the Great Beyond looking for a rest stop on the way to elsewhere. They arrive in secret and stay in specialized inns, where innkeepers endowed with extraordinary powers cater to their every need. In return for hosting these travelers, Earth enjoys a protected status. It can’t be conquered, it can’t be enslaved, and the unsuspecting humanity is allowed to develop as it sees fit.

Dina DeMille is such an innkeeper. Her inn is a living entity that defies laws of physics, her fluffy dog is secretly a monster, and the only paying guest is a former Galactic tyrant with a price on her head. Then there are practical matters of space vampire knights, elite werewolf soldiers, and philosopher space chickens.

But have no fear. The safety of her guests is Dina’s first priority. Welcome to Gertrude Hunt.

Graphic Audio a Dramatized Adaptation is a movie in your mind.

I LOVE the Innkeeper Chronicles series and so, when I heard it was going to come out as Graphic Audios I just had to give it a try.  I’ve never listened to a Graphic Audio until now.  WOW!!  It was a movie for the mind.  It’s got so much going on with the all the added sound effects and full cast.  I binged the full Innkeeper Chronicles series in the Graphic Audio formate and would highly recommend the series in any format, but I think the Graphic Audios are my favorite.  It was a magical listen bringing the story to life in my mind and had me discovering new things.  It was so good!  Loved it!

Check out my individual reviews for all the Innkeeper Chronicles books.

  1. I love this series so I think it would be fun to try it on Graphic Audio.

    • My library had these on Hoopla. It was great to listen too and of course I ended up buying them. Hope you enjoy. Happy Listening!

  2. This is one of my favorites in the series and I look forward to listening in the graphic audio format. I’ve only listened to the first two so far, but I will get to the others eventually. Thanks!

    • My library had them in GA and that’s how I listened first, but of course I loved them so much I ended up buying them. Now I’ve got both audio formates ^_^. Hope you continue to enjoy and thanks for visiting.

  3. I listened to a couple of these on Hoopla through my library system. I was a little taken aback by the sound effects at first, but got used to it. I really liked the cast of voices. Wished the Kate Daniels books used one. So many voices…

    • I believe they are doing Kate Daniels in Graphic Audio coming out April 2023. At the moment pre-order at B&N and Graphic Audio. I can’t wait to listen to Kate Daniels series in GA. Innkeeper Chronicles series I also listened on Hoopla before I broke down and bought. I love Andrews. Thanks for visiting!

  4. Great review! Ilona Andrews is always my favorite.
