From the New York Times #1 bestselling author, Ilona Andrews, comes a fun and action-packed new adventure in the Innkeeper Chronicles! We invite you to relax, enjoy yourself, and above all, remember the one rule all visitors must obey: the humans must never know.

Life is busier than ever for Innkeeper, Dina DeMille and Sean Evans. But it’s about to get even more chaotic when Sean's werewolf mentor is kidnapped. To find him, they must host an intergalactic spouse-search for one of the most powerful rulers in the Galaxy. Dina is never one to back down from a challenge. That is, if she can manage her temperamental Red Cleaver chef; the consequences of her favorite Galactic ex-tyrant's dark history; the tangled politics of an interstellar nation, and oh, yes, keep the wedding candidates from a dozen alien species from killing each other. Not to mention the Costco lady.

They say love is a battlefield; but Dina and Sean are determined to limit the casualties!

Sweep of the Heart is book five in the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews.

Sweep of the Heart takes us back to Diana’s Inn. We finally get to learn more about Caldayan, her past and her family. WOW it was so great to learn more about Caldayan. We also get a few answers as to what happened to Diana’s parents inn, but there are so many more questions. I loved seeing Shan work so well with Diana. They are a power couple. And, last the artwork is superb.

This time we have a mate selection taking part in the Inn. I enjoyed the mate selection; though I’m not a fan of the Bachelorette or Bachelor TV shows, so this type of thing isn’t my thing, but Andrews made this one exciting and interesting adding intrigue and great fantasy world building.

The one thing I’m not a fan of is the recap at the begging of each chapter. It’s ok on the blog for the weekly thing to refresh people’s minds, but for the finished published version it didn’t work for me. I could have not read that part, but really when you have a book you read it all.

As always I love returning to the Innkeeper World. The end was by far the best and I can’t wait for the next installment. The Andrews team created another spectator novel in the Innkeeper Chronicles.

Rated: 4 Stars

  1. Yes! Getting Caldenia’s background like that and finally a big break in the mystery about her parents was huge. Loved seeing Dina and Sean as a strong couple partnering at the inn. Ha, yeah, that business at the beginning of each chapter was distracting. I don’t read the serial posts so I didn’t know about that before.

    • I don’t read the serial posts either. I like to wait for the full finally book to come out in this series; before I read. I do see their blog posts, so I see how the chapters started and it works for the blog as a weekly, but I felt it didn’t work in the book. Just my opinion. I really enjoyed finally learning about Caldenia. Thanks for visiting and sharing your thoughts.

  2. I agree 100% about the recaps – it really took me out of the story. I enjoyed this one a lot, but wished the mating ceremony wasn’t so much of the book. I will re-read it when the graphic audio comes out.

    • I agree on all the aspects you mentioned. I feel the same way on the mating ceremony. I’m also going to listen to the graphic audio. ^_^ Thanks for visiting!

  3. I liked this one too. There were just some parts where it felt like a history lesson I didn’t really sign up for, but apart from that, I love the inn and Dina and Sean and that spouse selection had a great ending.

    • I like returning to the Inn, Diana, and Sean. Thanks for sharing you thoughts.

  4. Loved this one audio and that ending… cannot wait for more!

    • I agree with you. I read and listened to this one. I do that with this series. It’s so much fun!

  5. I read the serial this time but I’m sure I’ll listen to the audio for a recap all at once soon.

    • The regular audiobook and/or Graphic Audio book for this series is really good. I like both! Hope you enjoy and happy listening.
