Beast. Creature. Monster.
Dangerous.
All of these things have been said about Gren.
Willa doesn't believe it, though. She knows that monsters can sometimes come in appealing packages. She knows that for all of his snarls and fearsome appearance, he'd never hurt her.
And she knows she has to get Gren away from the Icehome camp, because no one will ever see him as a person, not when he attacks all who come close. Not when he's tied and treated like an animal.
She's going to save him...or fall in love. Maybe both. Willa doesn't mind that he's a beast, as long as he's *her* beast.
Willa’s Beast is book three in the Icehome series by Ruby Dixon.
Willa is a southern country girl who came from a bad background. I had issues with Willa. She’s neurotic and miss trusting.
Gren was a slave, created in a lab, and is a hodgepodge of different alien DNA. The people on the ice planet don’t trust him; because he’s more best than man and they can’t get close to put the translator chip in him to understand him. I loved Gren.
Willa feels for Gren; because of how he’s being treated. She decides to befriend him and they escape together; because she doesn’t want him to be treated like a slave or an animal.
As all the Icehome novels they are written in duel POV. I like having both perspectives. We go back to what the series original had in the communication issues; because one doesn’t have the translator chip, yet. The story takes place during the same timeline as Veronica’s Dragon.
Willa’s Beast was not my favorite, but still enjoyable enough. I look forward to reading on in the series. If you enjoy sexy science fiction romance then I recommend picking up a Dixon novel.

I think its fun when alien romance go that extra mile and make communication part of the struggle. Bummer the heroine was not a fave.

I agree. This series has had it’s ups and downs on characters. I like Dixon and her alien romances. Thanks for visiting!
