Twilight Hunter

Paranormal Romance – Urban Fantasy – Supernatural

Hunters of the supernatural, the Execution Underground are an elite group tasked with protecting humanity…but what happens when danger collides with desire?

Jace McCannon has one loyalty: the Execution Underground. Despite his mixed blood, his hatred for the werewolves he hunts is legendary. But in his search for a sadistic killer, Jace finds himself face to face with a stunningly seductive packmaster…and longing for a night with his mortal enemy.

Nothing can stop Frankie Amato from defending her kind—or catching the rogue responsible for killing women in her territory. For that, this alpha female needs Jace’s skills more than she wants to admit. But as their investigation exposes evil truths, need burns into a passion that dare not be fulfilled. For to do so will have deadly consequences for them both.

~ 4.5 Twilight Hunter Stars ~

Twilight Hunter is book one in Kait Ballenger’s “Execution Underground” series. We have action, surprises, murder mystery and steaming up the bedroom romance. The plot is well done, fast passed, non-stop on the go action/adventure that I found myself drawn in and could not put this one down.

I liked Frankie she does not let anyone push her around. She is pack leader which is rear for a women to be in that high a position. As for Jace he has some major issues and I got a little upset that he does not see the grey area’s, but that is what Frankie is around for. She helps him accept his past, his family and accept who and what he is. I was not expecting the twist and turns these two go through just to find happiness together. As for the romance it was a little fast for my liking, but Kait explains this, so it’s not hard to understand why they hook up so fast and jump into bed quickly. I did get a little frustrated with all the miscommunication between Frankie and Jace, but was happy to see them work it out.

I will mention that Damon is head of the Execution Underground in Rochester where they are stationed. If you have read After Dark then you learn about the team and understand Damon’s anger, but his team has no idea what has happened to him and why he is so angry at the world. This puts the team in a predicament and makes finding the killer that much harder. I was surprised to find out why the killer was targeting Jace. I was not expecting what we learn at the end.

Kait Ballenger knows how to pull an audience in and keep us entertained. I’ve had Twilight Hunter since the day it came out and am beating myself up for not reading it sooner. I really enjoyed it and look forward to getting to know the other members of the Execution Underground. I will say the ending in Twilight Hunter left me with some un-answered questions, so I hoping that Immortal Hunter book 2 will answer them.
