Fatal Desire
Lileta wanted to kill Caleb, but when she is freed by this tempting male, her anger turns to a desire that can only prove fatal. Even if she could claim him as her own, her dark past makes her unworthy of his love.
When their paths continue to intertwine, spiraling them to the brink of passion, can they resist the yearnings burning within them, or will they submit to their fatal desire?
Wow! Valerie Twombly has me hooked on her Guardians series. So much is revealed and hinted at in Fatal Desire that I want to know (NOW) what happens next to all her characters. Fatal Desire starts off where Eternal Flame left us and Valerie did not give us a moment to catch our breath. We are put right back into the world of the Guardians and a war that is brewing.
Caleb, our crazy sexy dragon gets his mate in this one and he has his work cut out for him. I love dragon shifters and really loved learning more about the Draki in Fatal Desire. I’m hoping Caleb’s brother and two closest friends get their own book too.
Lieta, a korthar demon as we learned in Eternal Flame has been a slave for many years. Her being mates to a dragon is not supposed to be possible, but Fate and the Gods are changing everything up.
Oh baby! The sexual desire and tension between Caleb and Leita was off the charts. Hawt! You connect to both characters and can’t wait to see how things play out in and out of the bedroom. We also get a BIG (Yes I said BIG) surprise of information about Lieta and her family connections as well as other surprises I did not see coming. I really enjoy an author who can keep me on my tows and throw in some things I was not thinking could or should happen. It makes the story that much more enjoyable.
We also get to see more of the Guardians (Vampires) from Eternal Flame and their story’s progress along. Ms. Twombly hints to who the next book might be about and I’m really looking forward to seeing how that story line progress. I loved seeing Marcus and Cassie’s child born. It was a wonderful experience in the mist of so much destruction. Life goes on and the birth is a welcomed event for all. We also get to learn a little more about the Gods and the laws governing them and a new element is introduced a Phoenix (what type you will have to read). I can’t wait to learn how this new element plays out.
Ms. Twombly has me hooked. I was glued to my chair until the very end. I enjoy all the new things brought to us as the plot thickens. I will most definitely be checking out the next book in this series. If you love a verity of paranormal creatures then you will enjoy the Guardians series.
