Hello and Welcome All!
Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Loke from Taken by a Dragon.
Hello Loke, thank you for agreeing to speak with me today.
Would you please tell use more about yourself and your dragon side?
Ah, you sound like Anais. There is no dragon side and no mortal side. There is only me. I am both. She seemed convinced that I thought and felt differently in my dragon form. I am not sure why. Perhaps Archangel misled her about such things. Anyway… I am dragon, a warrior born into a clan that makes the black valleys of Hell their home. We are a small clan now, as many of them are after the wars, but we do our part when the demons or other realms call upon us for aid in their battles. I am around 6000 years old, give or take a few centuries, and have been a warrior for my clan for many of those years. I prefer to live on my own in my cave in the mountains though. I grew tired of village life a long time ago.
What is the dragon culture like?
It has its own customs and rules, just as any culture. Female dragons can be even more possessive than the males, and have a tendency to persist in their pursuit of a male they desire… even when the male finds it irritating. Most dragon males will submit to the female’s desire and sleep with her. It is acceptable for a male or female to sleep with someone who desires them, even if they feel nothing for them. Anais calls them one night stands. I also grew tired of that sort of behaviour, many centuries before I grew tired of village life.
Dragons can be extremely solitary creatures, but when called to arms by our chief, we always respond. I may avoid the village and other dragons, but I would never ignore the call of my clan’s chief. We were born to fight.
Do you have any special strengths?
I have a little magic. Each generation has less since we left the mortal realm. Our connection to our homeland is weak now and the generation after mine was the last to bear magic. It is very draining and leaves me vulnerable if I use it up and have to wait for it to recover, but I can use it to manipulate things and people.
Dragons who bear magic tend to use it sparingly. Our real strength is in our dragon form. Our hide is near-impenetrable, only vulnerable to weapons made of elven steel, and we can easily subdue large forces of demons. There are a few species in Hell we avoid, but I believe any fae, shifter or demon with an ounce of sense would avoid them too.
Tell us a little about Anais your Amazon warrior? What did you feel or think the first time you saw her?
Awestruck. I remember it clearly. It was in the battle between the Third and Fifth Realms of the demons. I came upon her and other mortal huntresses in the midst of the fray and was knocked down. All I could do was sit there and stare up at her. She stole my breath. I had never seen a more beautiful female. I believed her to be an Amazon, one of an ancient powerful race of Hell, but came to learn that she was mortal after I took her from the battle to protect her. I had a vision of her, one I could not allow to happen, so I did all in my power to change her future for the better. My fierce little Amazon was not happy with me, but I believe she is now glad that I took her that day, because it brought us together.
Lastly Loke, how do you feel about your author Felicity Heaton? Did she do you and your story justice or do you have some issues too take up with her?
I believe I might not wake up tomorrow if I dared to say a word against her. I am joking, of course. She did the story of myself and Anais justice, and was very understanding during the times when I was distracted by Anais, or Anais distracted by me. I must admit, I did not like the attention she gave to others though. I have no problem with the prince of elves, but it has come to my attention that one elf in particular appeared in our story without my knowledge and it is an elf I would rather see removed from the three realms. I have not witnessed good things where this elf is concerned. He was present in a vision I am concerned might come to pass, even when I must have faith that the female at the centre of it is strong enough to deal with the elf. If anything happens to my friend though, I will hunt the elf down.
Thank you, Loke, for taking the time out of your schedule to talk with us. I know that I am very thrilled to read your story and hope the fans of Eternal Mates will enjoy.
Here’s more about Taken by a Dragon, including an excerpt from this paranormal romance novel.
(Eternal Mates Romance Series Book 7)
Possessed by a need to save a beautiful Amazon warrior from the vision he witnessed, Loke snatched her from the midst of the battle between the Third and Fifth realm of the demons, and carried her to his home deep in the black mountains of Hell to protect her. But as the fierce little female awakens, he finds she’s anything but grateful, and his dragon instincts roar to life to warn she might be more to him than an enemy—she might be his fated female.
Anais remembers meeting a handsome warrior in the heat of battle, a man who was her enemy but who looked at her with eyes that held dark heat and wicked promises. When she wakes to find that same dragon shifter has taken her captive, desire is the last thing on her mind, but escaping him to return to Archangel, the hunter organisation she works for, sounds less than appealing when he reveals the reason he took her—to stop her from dying.
Can Loke protect Anais from the dangers of his realm and how far will he go to save her from the future he keeps witnessing? Can Anais resist the fierce attraction that burns between them as hot as fire and stay true to Archangel or will her heart be taken by the dragon?
