Interview: A.M. Griffin (Dark Wolf Enterprises Series) ~ Excerpt

Posted on by

Hello & Welcome!

Today I’m happy to introduce A. M. Griffin author of Dark Wolf Enterprises Series. The first book Shifter Claimed will be out January 24, 2017. A. M., Thank you for visiting Angel’s Guilty Pleasures and speaking with me today.

For those readers not familiar with you, would you please share a little about yourself?

Hello! *waves* I’ve been a published author since 2012, first getting my start with Ellora’s Cave and now I’m with Totally Bound Publishing and Indie. I write the stories that I’d like to read and since I like to read everything my genres range from sci-fi to paranormal, to urban fantasy to contemporary and to erotica to young adult. I love to read and I love to write.

What genre(s) do you write in and how did you choose to write in them?

See above (lol).

Was there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?

I can’t say that I’ve been influenced any way in my writing. My favorite author who is an auto-buy for me is Dean Koontz and I don’t think that I could ever write dark, paranormal mystery that he does. But I love the way his characters flow and the way that he can paint the scene. I would love to be able to do that, but only a few authors can do it as well as he does.

What’s the last romance book that blew you away?

I actually don’t read a lot romance anymore. I used to read whatever Johanna Lindsey put out and then I jumped to Courtney Milan. Now I find myself reading a lot of urban fantasy when I do get the opportunity to read. I absolutely love the Mercy Thompson series. I gobble those books up when they come out.

Which of your characters are you most similar to and why?

To hear me explain it I’m similar to all of my heroines! (Lol) I think every heroine I create has a little piece of myself intertwined into them. Whether someone is short and feisty, or another has a ton of sisters and brothers, or a crazy relationship with a mother or father. It’s the little bits and pieces of all of them that would make me. I don’t write any in my likeness totally because, well, I’m just too damn boring.

Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or a theme, or idea you’d love to work with?

I always wanted to fix Sa’Mya, my heroine from Dangerously Yours. It was the second book that I’d ever written and she was a villain that I redeemed and I didn’t do it right. Luckily, I got the opportunity to work more on her story and was able to do her justice. That book will be re-releasing this summer.

Dark Wolf Enterprises Series

Would you tell us a little about the Dark Wolf Enterprises Series?

Dark Wolf Enterprises is no ordinary multi-million investment firm. The Farkas Pack owns and operates the unassuming business in the large office building nestled on over 100 acres of land in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Meet the close-knit members of the family as they navigate their way through company embezzlement, betrayal and love.

In the Dark Wolf Enterprises Series if you could spend the day with one of the characters, who would it be and what would you guys do?

I would spend the day with the CEO, Andras Farkas. So far Andras has only made an appearance in the books and he’s very mysterious. Since I need to write his story soon I’d love to be able to get a peek into his private life so that I could pair him with the perfect human mate. All the brother’s deserve their happily ever after, especially the Alpha.

Who was your favorite character to write about in the Dark Wolf Enterprises Series?

Hands down Meisha, from Lover Claimed. I love Trudy from Shifter Claimed and Asha from Hunter Claimed, but Meisha is the martial artist who is a hoot. She is so headstrong and doesn’t let anyone push her around, not even a wolf-shifter! I love her so much that I named my dog after her. And I swear their personalities match!

Last what is next for you?

2017 is a busy year for me. All 3 Dark Wolf Enterprises series are releasing and all 5 of my previously published sci-fi series, Loving Dangerously will be re-releasing as well. On top of the re-releases, I have a new sci-fi series, contemporary and books 5 and 6 of my undercity Chronicles of Babylonia Jones, P.I. books that will release in 2017. Whew.

 A. M., it was a pleasure having you visit. Thank you for taking the time to chat with me today!

Thank you for having me! A.M. Griffin

Blurb:

The big break Trudy Hollander’s small accounting firm needs has finally arrived, but unfortunately it comes with murder, mayhem and Kristof Farkas, a man she just can’t seem to resist. Even worse, Kristof is the CFO of Dark Wolf Enterprises—the one person who can pull the plug on the job that will take her company to the next level.

Then there are the assassins who can jump from three stories up and still be able to run away…

Kristof has no intention of giving in to his inner wolf and claiming Trudy. She’s human. Too fragile to withstand being a shifter’s mate. But the need to protect her is stronger than his resolve, and his desire is more powerful yet. He’ll fight with everything he has to keep her safe, both from those who would hurt her, and from himself.

She was going to die. There was a man-wolf killer outside and a pilot-kidnapper in here.

Another glance outside and Kristof stood, as a man, watching her. A naked man. A wonderfully naked man.

She shook her head.

     Wolf-beast. That’s what he is.

“Trudy. Open the hatch. I’m coming back up,” he yelled out to her.

Was she supposed to let him back in? He hadn’t said anything about that.

She chewed on her lower lip, waiting for an answer she couldn’t think of. If she opened the door, would he attack her? Was he a rabid beast who couldn’t control himself?

She shook her head. “No. You said not to open the hatch.”

“I meant don’t open the hatch for them.”

“Since I know your secret, are you going to kill me now?”

“Don’t be silly. It’s cold out here. Open the hatch.”

Should I let him back in?

“Are the pilots still alive?” he asked.

Her gaze shot back to the cockpit. “Yes. But not for long,” she yelled, loud enough for the pilots to hear.

“I’m naked and it’s about thirty degrees out here. Can you please let me in?”

“Wh-what about your super-human heating abilities? Aren’t you supposed to be so hot that’d you’d melt snow?”

He cocked his head to the side. “This is not some young adult story about Wolf-Shifters and sparkly Vampires. I’m freezing my ass off.”

“If he kills me, I’m going to be so pissed,” she mumbled to herself.

With the gun trained on the cockpit, she slowly walked to the hatch. There, she unlocked it and opened the door for him.

Kristof jumped and grasped the edge of the plane. With a grunt, he hauled himself up and through the opening. His body was streaked with blood. He looked…deadly.

She startled and fell back. She aimed the gun at him. “Don’t hurt me.”

“Trudy, darling.”

She stared at him. “Y-yes.”

“If you’re going to shoot me, I’d rather you aim for my head and get it over with quickly.”

Her gaze followed the path of her aim.

Aw shit.

“My other head,” he said softly.

Trudy dropped her jaw and she stared at him—all of him. He was big, thick and swinging gloriously in front of her.

  1. Thanks for having me! I haven’t gotten desensitized from romance, not at all. I change genres all the time. What I’m reading right now happen’s to be urban fantasy. A girl can read and like many different things. Lol

  2. I guess she’s gotten desensitized from reading romances since she writes them too…
