Hello!
Did you know that you can loan out your ebooks from Amazon and Barnes & Nobles?
Did you know that I offer my eBook library for lending?
That’s right I have a page “Lending Library” on my blog dedicated to all the eBooks I own.
– Nook and Kindle offer the option of loaning out eBooks. Not all the books are available to loan, but I’m happy to check and see if a title is available to loan. If you don’t want to browse through the list, just send me an email with the title and author you are looking for and I’ll search my collection and see if I own it. If I have it and it’s available to loan I’ll send it out. ( For more information on how to get a hold of me and request – Click Here)
Why do I offer this? Well, I know that not everyone has a library and/or that the library doesn’t always carry an author, especially Indie ones, so I want to give book lovers a way to find, love, and enjoy a verity of books and authors.
Try Something New! We all have different tastes in the type of books we love and enjoy. Open yourself up to trying a new author, genre, or series.
Worry free before you buy? I’ve had a book or author on my TBR that I’ve wanted to try, so I buy the book, but it didn’t turn out as I had hopped. What then? Well, I’m stuck with an ebook I don’t want anymore. If it was paperback I could give it away or donate it my library, but you can’t do that with ebooks. I think that many book lovers have had this same issue.
Loaning out my eBooks gives you a worry free way to try the book out and if it doesn’t work, well then you don’t have to be upset that you spent that money and are stuck with a book you don’t want.
Note: You do need to have an account with Amazon and/or Barnes & Nobles. You don’t have to have the reading devices, the app will work too. The lending period is 14 days from the day you accept the loaned book. Once you finish you can send the loan back or at the end of the 14 days the device will send it back for you.

What a great idea! I’ve heard about the fact that you could lend some ebooks but hadn’t put much thought into it. It’s great that you created a list for people!

It’s my pleasure to share my library. I’ve found my library doesn’t care all the author I enjoy and at times I’m hesitant to purchase some books too, so having the opportunity to try something out before buying is nice. I want that for other who love books as much as I.

Thanks for the reminder about this. I remember when i first discovered your blog I read about this, but I forgot about it again, so I am glad you mentioned this again. I’ll have a look through your lending library soon :).
I have bought quite some books from Amazon, but I think a lot don’t have the lending option for me, but I have lend a book from another blogger once. So can receive books, just not if I can lend them out as well. Is there a way to search in Amazon for books you own that are lend-able?

I like the option of loaning out my books, but I don’t really have anyone to share with in my family that reads what I read, so I wanted to give the option out to everyone who followers. It’s a great feature.
In Amazon under your Account go to Content and Devices. It shows Your Content 1st which is all your ebooks you own. If you click on the button under the Action area it shows you all the different features, like Delete, Download, etc. If it’s loanable it will say Loan This Title. If it’s not available then their is no loan function. You have to do this for each title to see if they are loanable.

Angela you are a Library Rock Star!! I wish I had the time to do all the cool blog things I see my blogger friends do, but the saying needing more hours in the day rings true for me 🙂

Thank you! I try to have useful information or fun posts on the blog. But, even with everything I do on the log I still feel like I don’t have enough time to all the fun things I see on all the blogs I follow. ^_^

I noticed this option in my Amazon account. I didn’t pay too much attention to it at first. Did you have to set up your page one book at a time or can you import a page? You are amazing for putting this all together!

I had to type in each book I have on my account into the page. Their is no download or transfer option. Wish their was. Even with all the books listed on my Library Borrow Page I still don’t have all my online eBooks listed, so I just tell people to email the title and author and I can search for it. Amazon has a search option in your eBook online library. I can type in an author and see all the books I own for that one or type in a title and see if I have it.

Thank’s for sharing. I had to set up a page and type in each book individually, but I also made a note at the top that you can email with a title and author and I can search on my Amazon account for that book. If I have it I’ll loan it, if it’s available to loan. If I don’t have it, I’ll let you know. Amazon has a search option on our online digital eCopy account. I like that feature. I still don’t have all my books listed. I keep picking up new ones or freebies.
