Top 5 Reasons To Check Out Angelbound Offspring
By Christina Bauer
As part of the launch for my new book, HUNTRESS (Angelbound Offspring #7), the goddess behind the Angel’s Guilty Pleasures blog has asked me to share my top five reasons to check out not just HUNTRESS, but all of my Angelbound Offspring series.
Mission accepted!
To write this list, I reviewed the word clouds associated with this series, AKA the most-written phrases found in my Amazon reviews. So without further ado, here goes!
Reason One. Enjoy some epic and unusual fantasy
Each of my books has its own world and related rules. HUNTRESS is no exception. In this novel, I built up an ecosystem of glass dragon shifters that have a biology and social system that’s part insect. It’s a lot of extra work, but I think the additional texture helps to sweep the reader away into the story. In HUNTRESS—and many recent releases—I’ve also added imagery to further enhance the experience.
Reason Two. Read about some kick-ass chicks
My heroines are strong girls and women who team up with equally powerful guys. I dedicate a lot of time coming up with ways for couples to work together on casting spells, solving mysteries, executing battles, and so on. To me, true strength doesn’t involve dominating someone else, but in building your partner and your relationship to higher levels. I know, I’m a total hippie. I’m just glad some readers dig my stuff.
Reason Three. Swoon for the good guys
My heroes are powerful, sexy and protective. As a reader, I dig anti-heroes. But as an author? Can’t write ‘em.
Reason Four. Boo the bad guys
One reason I like Star Wars: it’s called the dark side, not the dark nuance. Life is complex and tricky. We all try to navigate the gray areas. Storytelling is a nice break where you can recharge and have fun. And honestly? The gray area isn’t as big as you might think. It’s important to recognize evil in a story so it’s detectable when it grows within your own soul.
Reason Five. Sass, sass, sass
In Author Land, some folks call this ‘developing your voice.’ Others say that jargon, culture references, and creating your own words/style just makes you unprofessional. Not sure I care either way. My top goal is to write stories that drag people into an experience they can’t get anywhere else, period.
So there you have it—the most popular reasons listed by readers like you for why to check out my series! Hope you found it interesting and I hope to see you on a future tour.
Huntress

(Angelbound Offspring #7)
Published by: Monster House Books
Publication date: May 25th 2021
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult
Synopsis:
Princess. Warrior. Dragon Shifter. Huntress. When it comes to protecting her family, eighteen-year-old Princess Huntress is known for kicking ass, taking names and then kicking a little more ass, just to be sure. She’s the last of her kind—a glass dragon shifter—and no matter what the threat, Huntress always tracks it down solo.
Then Huntress meets the leader of the L’Griffe crime family, Gage Beaufort, who is a dashing dragon shifter with a knee-melting stare. The attraction is instant, yet Huntress hates it. Why? Crime syndicates hurt royal authority, which means they threaten her family. Long story short, being with Gage is just wrong. Besides Huntress already has a rock-solid life plan, and that’s to fight alone, forever. No relationships, thank you very much.
But when a new danger threatens the royals, everything changes.
Now Huntress needs a mercenary army and fast, so she forges an alliance with L’Griffe. To protect those she loves, Huntress agrees to marry someone she loathes: Gage Beaufort. But will the extra help be enough?
Even worse, Huntress’ family isn’t the only thing at risk–the same is true for the princess’ heart. Because Gage is a man who always gets what he wants. In this case, the crime lord desires Princess Huntress, body and soul.
“With Angelbound Offspring, every page is entertaining… an exciting story that unfolds with magic, dragons, a little romance and a villain to despise.” – Tonja, Goodreads

Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.
Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
