Millbrae Library

Millbrae is outside San Fransisco and we have a lovely local library.  We use the library regularly.  Now with school back in session we are going to the library after school to work on homework.  It’s a nice quiet place and a change of scenery.  We needed the change after being stuck at home during the 2-year COVID stuff.

The inside has a verity books, videos, and other selections.  It’s also got lots of nice cozy places to sit and read or work stations and free internet, computers, printers, etc..

What I really love is that they have a great online selection as well as if they don’t have the book it has an inter-exchange program with many other libraries in the area to get the book for you.

  1. Oh, I love the look from the outside! It sounds like a great place to visit and study. I don’t frequent the library like I did when my kids were younger, but I still enjoy our local space, too.

    • The city and library staff do a nice job maintain the library area and it’s nice that it’s one block from the main central park and not far from the middle school, so lots of kids can walk to it. At this time we use it regular for studying. Thanks for visiting!

  2. Love seeing your local library and neat how they have nice places to read or work quietly. Even better that there is such a variety to check out. My own local library is small and not such a large selection, but they do have inter-library loan, Freadly, and Overdrive/Libby.

    • The inter-library loan’s is great. More libraries should have that, but I can understand the rule areas it being harder, so maybe a bigger online selection is better. I grew up with a small rule library. Not many options. I never had a big library until I moved to Minneapolis. I loved that library and am glad my library is decent with options for study, quiet reading, and a good selection of things. Thanks for visiting.

  3. I love our library. The city has a number of libraries that are all part of the same system. Think of a chain of stores. They have a really good online system where you can put physical books on hold and when the book is available and ready, you just go pick it up at the library closest to you. There is also a huge selection of ebooks, which is what I mostly make use of. For ebooks, you can make recommendations for the library to acquire them, and so far most of the books that I had wanted became available sooner or later.

    • Your library sounds like mine and wonderful. That’s great they acquire the books you want. ^_^
      Thanks for visiting and sharing.

  4. I never go to the physical library anymore but I heavily use the digital ones.

    • During COVID we did digital, but now that things are back to semi-normal and school going on we’re going back in. Thanks for visiting and sharing how you use your library.
